Just so I know....

Can anyone tell me what the cords of muscle in the neck are called? Are they part of your traps? Or are they a separate muscle group of their own?

Thanx in advance to anyone who answers,

the traps are the muscles to the sides of the neck which extend to the back of the neck as for the rest of the muscles in the neck are the sternocleidomastoid which makes up the most part of the neck, sternohymoid which makes up the muscles in the center of the neck and then there's a really small muscle just bellow the head called the omohymoid

Thanx....

Thanx, jecestar. In light of this new info. (new to me at least) I believe I'll simply continue calling them "neck muscles" or "cords of muscle".

I just read "Bonfire of the Vanities" by Tom Wolfe a month or so ago, and continually had to work through this mouthfull of a word. I don't blame you for sticking with "neck muscles" from now on.
