The Return of JP Some of you who have been on this board for a few years may remember an unfinished story entitled JP. I know a few of you have asked me about whether I was going to finish or not and the answer is...yes. After two failed attempts to complete the long-in-coming story, (don't ask, but let me just say I must have bad luck with computers!) I will begin posting the story in its entirety (I promise, since it is already near completion) starting Wednesday, September 28. The first 10 chapters will be posted (barring any interruptions) every Wednesday and Friday and then every Friday after that. Of course, being me, I have gone back and re-written (in some cases, heavily) parts of the story I had already posted, so there may be some differences that you may remember. Anyway, for those of you who haven't read the story, I hope you enjoy the ultimate version on JP. (Just don't call me George Lucas!) |

Yes! luvyalots, JP was one of my favorites. I wasn't aware that you had written it, but it makes sense to me now that you would have written it given the band elements in the story. Since I'm the first to respond, I'll say YES! PLEASE CONTINUE! I enjoyed the story when it came out. I was upset when no one continued it. Looking forward to reading it if you do decide to continue JP! --JSmith |

Hi Matt...long time. |
| |||
Two great, stand-out, epics grace the net: New Neighbors and JP?s Story. Both of these series are a cut above because of their detail, plot, and unusually evocative, almost real descriptions. I think they both have a fanbase, too, although the fans are probably too shy to admit it. I've always enjoyed JP's story, and I'm thrilled to see a re-write, with added plot and more details than ever before. A salute to Luvyalots (Joiseyboi??) for his effort and persistence, what is surely the culmination of months of hard work. I can't wait for your next installment. On a side note, I'd be thrilled to know if these authors ever have future projects in mind... any thoughts? I can't help but feel you borrowed a little from New Neighbors, especially the "speed skater" reference. I could be wrong here... |

The story of JP and Matt is a somewhat personal story. JP is loosely (and I mean loosely) based on my best friend from high school who was a wrestler and an amazing guy. I realized later that I was in love with him, but since he was straight, I was afraid to tell him about my feelings for him. I guess you can say that this tale is sort of my dreams put down on paper. I eventually did come out to him and he took it well; our friendship has never been stronger. Other characters in the story - Hunter, Chrissy, Ryan - are based on real people I knew in high school, or sometimes amalgamations of real people. And to answer your question about whether I'm planning on writing anymore. Well, the answer is yes! I already have ideas for a prequel and a sequel to the JP story - hence making it somewhat of a trilogy. They won't be as long, but they will delve deeper into other characters and answer some questions raised in the original chapter. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and thanks for your replies. |

Even just limiting the choices to erotic epics, no list of the "all-time stand-our greats" can be complete without mentioning the granddaddy of them all, the series that I know was responsible for sparking my interest in the genre. (I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few writers here count it among their own inspirations, as well.) I'm referring, of course, to Elf Sternberg's "Journal Entries" saga, which should be required reading for anyone interested in the sort of serialized storytelling that Rowan and luvyalots make look so effortless. The Journal Entries should also be required reading for anyone who wants to develop a healthy, open attitude towards their own sexuality. I read about things I'd never even imagined in Elf's stories, and tried plenty of them! ...Well, it's certainly a lot healthier than getting your sex ed from either porn directors or Catholic School nuns, anyway. For the 5 people who don't know what I'm talking about, Googling for "Elf Sternberg Journal Entries" brings up a laundry list of hits, but the first match is Elf's complete archive on his own site: The Journal Entries of Kennet R'Yal Shardik et al.
