Mr. Olympia The Mr. Olympia contest is next weekend (Oct. 15) in Vegas. Anybody going? I've been to about 5 of them, they are always great. Even if you don't go to the actual competition, the Expo is a fantastic place to see lots of the biggest bodybuilders you've ever seen anywhere. I'm still not sure if my finances will let me make it this year, but I highly recommend to anybody who is a fan of the sport. |

Gulliver travelled to the land of Brobdingnag, where he was surrounded by giants. That's how I feel today. I'm in Las Vegas for the Mr. Olympia contest and everywhere you look there are giant mountains of muscle wandering about. You couldn't walk 5 feet around the Expo floor without coming eye-to-pec of some mega-man. I know this is a muscle-growth site and not a bodybuilding contest site, but if anyone else follows the sport (I'm a fan, not a participant) I'd love to hear from you here, or can yahoo chat at [email protected]. If you do send me a message, please let me know you're from MGS. Last edited by LittleArm; October 15th, 2005 at 05:19 PM. |

Are you watching the show tonight or just attending the expo? I hit the arnold last year, so I know what you mean about wall-to-wall muscle. hehehe |

Doing it all.. Went to Judging this morning, did the Expo this afternoon, heading out to the Finals tonight. Even though the seats will be far away, it's still a very exciting show and I get into it a lot. It was kind of funny... at the judging, there was a pretty big guy who competed in some local contests (from what I was overhearing) sitting behind me with his buds. They kept guessing who was who on stage, and getting it wrong a lot of the time so I started naming the guys off for them. Skinny guy like me, teaching the Big Guys about bodybuilding- loved it! Oh man, talk about muscle giants! At the Mr. Olympia finals tonight, they had two enormous vertical video screens on stage showing the competitors, so it looked like there were 20-foot giants standing up there posing. Check out this photo. That isn't a poster in the background, that's a full-motion video display. I love the comparison with the cameraman! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../bigscreen.jpg |

Well, I wish I had the time, and money to attend since I work less than a mile from the Orleans. Unfortunately, we had inventory from 11 PM, until after 4 AM this morning, and I've been working all weekend. On a positive note, there has been LOTS of eyecandy in my mall! __________________ God is in the rain. |

I, like Brent, wanted to go but I also must work this weekend. Maybe next year I'll be lucky enough to attend without my work schedule and anything else getting in the way. From my past two experiences in Las Vegas during Olympia weekend, the Expo was a great place for guy candy. Too bad that they moved the Mr. Olympia events from Mandalay Bay because the giant wave pool and beach offered some nice muscled vistas. Traveller |

Little Big Lee was at the Expo with a racing dragster. As of a month ago he was still training to compete so I don't know why he dropped out. I didn't want to be yet another person asking him the reason so I didn't find out. I'm a big fan of his as well. When he's alone on stage he looks absolutelt phenomenal. Unfortunately, because of his short height he looks small in a line-up and I think the judges get blinded to how thick he really is. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...priest_car.jpg |

How much did Ronnie weigh this year? Last year he was 296, year before he was 287. Inquiring minds and all that! xoxo Richard (enjoying his vacation in Denver...) |

When I read the standings I thought it was a reprint of last year's. That's the one thing I don't enjoy about Olympia, the predictability. Only when the winner retires is there any excitement for me (in terms of suspense...seeing the bodies makes me excited the usual way). A friend of mine emailed me asking what happened to Alex Federov? Was he there, or was his huge body just not in good enough shape to make the final? |

Federov was there... he didnt make the top 15 though. And how George Farah can possibly come ahead of Markus Ruhl, ronny rockel or quincy taylor is beyond me. |
