Give me advice So, I recently got back into the gym. Got tired of being what I was and want to be more. So, simply I need some advice on how to get my 5'8'' 250 frame of mostly fat into something a lot better. I like being a big man, so converting all this fat to muscle is my ultimate goal. I live in SC, so if someone would like to take me as their personal project, I'll be more than willing to comply. |

Crap, I can't edit a post. Well, I thought I would be more specific. I'm fairly knowledgable in different exercises, gym safety and how to perform them. My diet has been cleaned up tremendously since I decided on getting in shape. I've started a gym recently and I'm going there almost religously now. The main thing I'm trying to acquire is how to make it better. I have a slight complimation of exercises to do, but I require specifics. My diet that I've limited myself to is comprised mostly of grilled chicken, steak and veggies. I drink nothing but water. There's one cheat day in the week where I will eat other things, but that's the majority of it. I would like more specifics on how I should handle it. I'm thinking I will have to lose the bodyfat first, then rebuild muscle on it, but I'm sure you guys will have tons better advice to give. Thanks in advance! |

Cardio Xythan... Realization that you have got to drop the fat is the first step. Many guys just think that because they are big... they don't have to loose the fat. Big and fat is not equal to big and muscular. Cardio in the early a.m. before breakfast is key. Start with 30 minutes and do it before you put anything into your stomach. Work up a sweat with a steep incline and a fast speed of 4.0 or more. Hopefully, you can eventually work up to 45 minutes and your t-shirt should be soaked with sweat. Also hit 20 minutes of cardio post workout. Again at a speed and incline that will make the sweat pour out of every pore of your body. No cardio post workout on leg day required. This combined with a high protein, moderate carb diet should work... Along with the weight training. I would also suggest restricting your sugar intake to zero. Only natural sugars and if required a sugar substitute. |

If your gym.... ...has a cardio rowing machine, that's the most effective for both toning&burning fat.I always suspected this&a panel of experts in the NY Times recently backed me up. |

At this point, your body will respond to almost anything you throw at it. I think you should start play with your routine a LOT at this stage, and learn what works for you. As for weight loss, if you are looking for natural sugar substitute, I use stevia. The taste is slightly off of sugar, but it is natural. __________________ God is in the rain. |
