| Besides the fact... ...that they turn your brain to jell-o;they're a bit dangerous.You're just not aware of your surroundings.I've seen a few near-accidents in he gym&on the street because people were"groovin'"insead of paying attention. |

| Hi Glam, I have to agree with you. I have also sensed a feeling of "eliteness" from people who were them as if they don't want to be talked to...which I can totally understand from women who are tired of getting hit on. Maybe I just read too much into it? |

| I often wear them to work out, mostly because it helps my focus. But I do keep my eyes open and aware of what's going on around me. I'm not sure those guys with the "aloof" expressions are smug, just oblivious. And I agree with glamma. NYC has always been a great walking city, and it still is, unless you're on a crowded sidewalk with a headphone-wearing, earpiece-listening zombie. The other day, I watched warily as an upscale woman in her fifties tottered toward me, yapping away into her cellphone mike and in a world (real estate, perhaps) of her own. I was poised to avoid her until she lurched to the side at the last moment and bumped me. She looked at me peevishly and muttered: "Watch where you're going". |

| I used to all the time but when I started working out with a partner, we tend to chat now instead. I've gotten out of the habit so I don't bother anymore. |

| I voted Yes, but it's really only Sometimes that I use headphones. I have a mini Apple iPod that I use when I do cardio: walking on the treadmill or on the sidewalk, or the stationary bike.
