Photo Booth re-writes

I've been re-reading my old Photo Booth stories and find myself wanting to do a few rewrites, just to see if I can improve on what I have, and test myself to see what I change. I even already have one picked out: Jonathan.

My question is: is there any PB vignette that you think is ALMOST there, but not quite? (be kind please, my ego can only take so much). Or simply one that you'd like to see me tackle again?

Feel free to make suggestions for new stories too. I'm all ears.

I don't have any ideas there, but I like the idea of an orphan being AP'd into an older cop type, like the ones he hero worships, who adopts a young kid.

Or, a younger brother that has a really out of control degenerate older brother and as he is aged and muscled in the photo booth reality changes so that his brother becomes a well adjusted young man that hero worships his now bigger brother.

I can't remember it by name, but the one with the two teenagers who are awkward and shopping. I like the change of scenery where the one gets affected outside the booth, but the transformation itself into a major asshole felt a little out of step with the rest of the series.

Also, I would always vote for more Photo Booth!

Do you mean the long-form PB with Tate and Justin? Way to pick the longest one, Curiosity! :P I can see how it's a bit of a jolt, but I just wanted to make a cocky jock (or perhaps a jocky cock?), what can I say? I've had other ideas like that, including ones outside of the mall, maybe when a guy makes it all the way home first. Hmmmm...

That's the one. I really like the way you did the transformation, so more in that style would definitely be something to consider. Here I just felt like Tate went past the jocky cock and turned into too much of an asshole. (Sorry for picking the longest one, btw)

Actually I loved the Tate/Tucker transformation....

I love the changing into cocky Jock transformations...The mix of changes in all the stories are cool.

I like the one where the guy changes into a gangster...Different and hot.

Not really a fan of the guy becoming a criminal. To me, that sounded like a downgrade. I also can't get over the golden teeth (due to, um, personal experiences I'm not a fan of teeth damage).

understood. if you've read the bulk of my stuff, i have a personal predilection for racial transformation and, yes, sometimes stereotypical elements that go with it. i get that it may not mesh with your personal likes/dislikes, but with all due respect, i won't rewrite the end of the story because of it.

My issue is that I have seemingly unlimited starter ideas, but all my 'afters' seem to be cops or businessmen. (not that there's anything wrong with that. :P) Trying to get some freshness in here!

Well ... "house-husband" could be a distinct difference. Doctor? Lawyer? Priest? (And yes, Priest is allowed, as long as the child molestation angle is clearly tossed.) Maybe circus performer? Cirque du Soleil has some rather amazing people.

How about turning a fat, slovenly teen into a hugely muscular glam metal or heavy metal freak? Another idea--turn a fat, slovenly teen into an updated, super-muscular version of Adam Ant from the 80's, or perhaps a Japanese "visual kei" or "elegant kei" Japanese rocker (like the recently-disbanded "Versailles Philharmonic Quintet")--only with muscles as big as "no name's" "Beach Muscle Dream" pictures--preferably the BIGGER one? <G> Crap, I wouldn't mind trying to write a "Photo Booth" story or two along those minds myself--with aardvark2's permission, of course!

I second blue collar men.

Plumbers outfits are pretty hot. Mechanics with smudges of oil on their faces. Airplane mechanics with their jumpers.

Also, high school coach is a good "after". Or maybe even corrections officer at a juvenile center. (this would be especially good for a troubled youth!)

Porn actor is always a plus.

Bouncer for a special steroid case formerly a gangly nerd obsessed with being a shut in due to being afraid of people. The "after" could be a bouncer or club owner that really likes being the life of the party.

authority figures. I have a thing for high school principals, myself.

maybe a daredevil. or one of those danger sports guys. An expert in skydiving would be interesting. Or hang gliding. A big strong guy that really likes adrenaline rushes. Diving in shark cages, going mountain climbing up steep verticals, adventurers that go to far remote locations with tours that are supreme physical tests.

Feel free to use any of these.

Okay, I think I'm scrapping the re-writes idea for now and just going to write some fun new vignettes…and allow myself to occasionally reference or tinker with old ones. The ideas in here are great, and I didn't know so many people were paying attention - seriously, 12 votes on this thread?!

Personally, I think it'd be interesting if one of the previous boothers found their way back and went through another TF. Wonder what the Booth would do if someone had squandered their "gift"?

It's funny, you said you'd re-write Jonathan, Aardvark, but that one's one of my favorites! Most of them were great (I think Joseph to Jose is the best one), but I like the idea of changing people into blue-collar workers. That's a different direction for the Booth, although I seem to remember one such change in your Car Lot series.
