Frustrated

Ok, I have posted a few times here and there but not gotten involvd enough for everyone to know about me but I at a plateau of sorts and am waiting to see which direction it goes before even taking progress pics.

About 3 years ago I weighed in at 296 with NONE of it muscle.

Now I ride at about 230 with still about 30 lbs of excess fat around the belly.

About 8 months ago I added lifting. It has been incredible to see inches going on where they should (almost 3 to arms and 5 to the chest) but the weight loss stopped. If I stop lifting the weight will start down again but the chest gains dissappear as well.

My question is...should I focus on the gains or the weight loss? Or is there some real way that I can do both?

I am currently taking no suppliments and do not have much in the way of cardio (walk 3 miles back and forth to school)

Focus

You will have to decide weather you want to focus on fat loss, or muscle gain. Unless you are way over weight, I don't think both can be done concurrently. Personally, I'd pick muscle gain. The more muscle you have on your frame, the easier it will be for you to loose fat later. However, the choice is all yours.

Congratulations!

If you lose weight when you stop lifting;it's because more of your weight is now muscle than fat;right?DON'T STOP LIFTING!The mirror is more important than the scale, right now. There may be stubborn pockets of fat that will have to be taken off through diet in the future, but you're in a very good place!Keep up the good work!
