Voice deepening? I heard roids can make your voice deeper. Is it true? |
| |||
well since they would thicken your vocal cords i would say probaly |
| |||
Much less so, if at all, in men since DHT (a testosterone derivative) is already high. In women, most definitely. |

Among the guys though, I've never noticed any changes. Some of the big big guys have fairly squeaky voices, and when you see them blow up mysteriously very quicky over the winter, their voices don't appear to change, even from year to year. __________________ What's wrong with wanting more? In normal adult males without androgen deficiency, voice deepening is not a recorded side-effect in any studies. I think most steroid using men would happily agree to this point. But like you say, women and a tiny minority of men with medical problems will see a deepening... and it can be quite spooky speaking to a woman with a deeper voice than yourself lol. |

Thank God! I'll still be able to hit the final high C in"Celeste Aida"! |

Voice Deepening Well, let's just say that when I was in High School I was a tenor. ....I'm NOT a tenor anymore! |

Primary & Secondary sexual characteristics... Steroids, both those produced naturally by our bodies and those added artificially, affect the human body in basically two ways: Primary sex characteristics in men: ie. growth of facial hair, increased penis size, deepening of the voice, growth spurt, the ability to make a female pregnant, etc. are not affected by later, adult use of anabolic steroids. Once a man is done with puberty, you've pretty much got whatever you're gonna have in those departments. Sorry Charlie. Secondary sex characteristics: ie. muscle growth, CAN and WILL increase with the use of anabolic steroids, even after you're finished with puberty. Women who use AAS, however, WILL experience the masculinizing effects as they never went through "boy puberty" before. Women will notice a deepening in their voice, the growth of hair in... awkward... places, and changes to their genitals (no, they do not grow a penis, but they do experience enlongation of the clitoris. Sorry guys, I know. Too much information ) Women bodybuilders, at least those who don't want to become completely masculinized, must take substantially smaller doses of AAS than their male counterparts. However, they do have one big advantage, over the guys; injecting large amounts of synthetic steroids into a man's body tells his testes to stop producing their own natural testosterone. A guy's nuts get completely "shut-down" when he's on cycle. When their cycles end they have to go through a prolonged period of Post Cycle Therapy to jump-start the production of their own natural testosterone. A woman's nuts don't get shut down by steroids because... she doesn't have any! The big, deep, booming voice guys develop when their muscles freakishly blow up is just another part of the fantasy stories. -BigLittleTim |
