Les Miserables

So, I loved the scene where Hugh Jackman lifted the flag pole from the ship. Call me a Les Mis junkie, but I don't care. I sported a little wood when he hefted the big pole. Go Hugh. And, for the record, Anne Hathaway was awesome.

I'm hoping to see it this week. I saw the original Les Miz in WDC back in the 1980s with Colm Wilkinson, the original Jean Val Jean, BEFORE the show went to Broadway. Awesome!

From the previews, the casting looks good! Hugh Jackman looks the part, certainly.

Can't wait!

I loved it! Although I felt Amanda Seyfried was awful as Cosette. Looks like a Cosette. Doesn't sing well at all though.

Have to agree with you, reidboy09, and I was also very disappointed with Russell Crowe. Still, I was happy they made a movie of the musical.

I'm really intrigued now. One reviewer said the problem with Crowe was that his "crooner" style doesn't really mesh with Hugh Jackman's "swing for the fences" style of Broadway belting it out.

I'll still be interested in seeing how this plays out. I've seen the original stage production about 3 times live and I always lose it, big time.

This is one of those "triumph of the human spirit" type stories mixed judiciously with "life sucks sometimes and good people can get the shaft" scenarios.

Can't wait to see it!
