Muscle Dork

So, even though I live in a city with the best celebrations in the world, I spent the New Year in the gym. I was doing Lateral Raises (cable) since my delts need some help. Hopefully this will help motivate me in the new year, but I still feel like a total nerd...

Look who you're talking to Brent. We got up early today since they're closing the gym early and today's leg day. So, move over nerd...

LOL....where in the hell do you think I was last night? Worked out until 8 (when the gym closed), went out with a friend for supper, then came home and went to bed.

If this is what nerds do, sign me up! I don't begrudge people their celebrations, but drinking 'till you can't see straight just never has appealed to me....

Naoyuki and I were playing STARE! with an 8 y.o., a 6 y.o., a 3 y.o., and their parents. At Midnight we went outside and blew horns and yelled "Happy New Year," then went home and went to bed. How nerdy is that?

Well, this nerd watched Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with his Mom, drank two small glasses of wine, then went to bed. This morning I got up at 8:30 and went for a 50 minute jog around the neighborhood (since my gym is closed today). I would've gladly opened up the gym if they needed someone.

BTW: I was stunned when I saw and heard Dick Clark last night. The stroke really took it out of him. Now I wish I hadn't seen the show so I could remember him "pre-stroke".

Celebrating what again? I was in bed by 8, got up early to work out and arrived at the gym before they even opened.

Add me

Instead of going to the casino last night, as I had done the past three years, after dinner at my sister's (surf and turf) I too stayed home to watch Dick Clark ring in the new year, feeling both sad and happy at his return.

This morning, I worked out for the first time in a hectic couple of weeks, burning my legs up pretty well. I'm sure some of the people I saw there were on their first (and maybe last) day of their New Year's resolution. My resolution is size this year, really packing some beef onto my frame along with dropping more body fat. I've got some pics ready as well, a couple of them slightly naughty. You can see some development, and use it as a basis of how much further I have to go. I'll post them on another forum here. Nerds and muscle...what a great combo!

I went jogging New Year's morn as well. The streets were still smoky and littered with the remnants of the previous night's fireworks. Didn't get to work out because around noon I checked out the new gym I'll be going to for the next few months. Glad they were open, and the place looked really nice. There were some nerds there too when I got there.

Body Commitments for the present Solar Cycle -

I perform an excellent balance of weight training, yoga, and aerobic conditioning.
I feed myself excellent nutrition, with plenty of good, raw, organic fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts and seeds.
My body takes in exactly what it needs to meet my commitments, and easily sheds that which it no longer needs.
My organs, bones, and muscles radiate with health and energy.
My posture is perfectly aligned, straight, strong, and supportive.
I am increasing musclemass and decreasing superfluous bodyfat in gorgeous proportion.

Red face

Hahah, I guess this is one venue where I'm *not* a total "dork"

I spent New Year's Eve w/family and friends, watching tv over some hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps, and ringing in the new year with some champagne. Yesterday my sister and I went out for pizza then shot some pool at a local sports bar w/our cousins and some other friends.

So, I haven't worked out since Friday (though this is pretty much par for the course for me, Mr. Two-workouts-a-week). I did take my new avatar pic that day though (it was arm/shoulder day )

Happy New Year everyone!
