Height and Weight in Profiles

Well I guess it must be that time of year again- It's great to read about how guys have made progress, or had someone make comments about how buffed they look, but c'mon guys how about putting your height, weight and a couple of stats in your profile?
We are a website focused on bodybuilding and even if you are just getting started, someone may remember that you had 12" biceps last year and give you a compliment for gaining an inch!!
So, why keep it a secret? Joe Weider probably dosen't care so you won't miss being on the cover of Muscle and Fitness this month

I'll put it right here:

5'10 1/2" tall
215 lbs.

That's down about 20 lbs. from 5 yrs ago when I reached my max weight. Keep in mind that since my partner (in the gym, as well as in life) died in July 2001, I haven't spent more than 3 days a year in the gym -- until recently, when my new partner (in life, and in the gym) joined the campus gym at UB (University at Buffalo.)

Looking forward to hearing (reading) more.

All the best...

Richard

My recent stats

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 212 lbs.

My weight is up from its low of 205 which I hit last August. However, in the past couple of months I decided to start more weightlifting and less cardio to bulk myself up. Results are starting to show; for example, my right arm is up to 16" flexed when cold (the left, which is my dominant arm, is about 15 5/8"); this is the biggest it's ever been. I'm going to wait another month to get new measurements from a trainer at my gym. I'm still trying to decrease my body fat, which seems to be slow going. But I tell myself how much better I look now, and how much better I WILL look.

Lets see

Right now, I'm still 5'8'' and around 260 which is up from where I started Nov last year. I was up to 270 at one time during my workouts, but I'm presuming my weight will fluxuate for a while in this first months.

My arms are around 17.5 right now last time I checked which was in Jan sometime, but by far, my legs are my strongest.

Pushing everything hard as I can and upping the cardio to help lose the gut.

Damn! You should be greatful you are over 200lbs!

My stats:

5'10"
190lbs
17a 45ch 33w

I have been struggling to get past 180lbs for a while now. I have finally reached 190lbs after training and eating consistently for the past 6 months. Unlink many of you I struggle to gain weight...not lose it. It's just as tough trust me.

Of course my ultimate goal of 220 is wasy down the road...but I keep trying.

Waist... well, I'm a powerlifter not a bodybuilder.

Thanks for replying gents! (Also, "thank you" to the guys that already have stats listed).
But for you other guys out there, you can put little tidbits about your height and weight by clicking on "User CP" and use the selections on the left side of the page. You can "edit" or even put it into your "signature". Some of us might have something in common, like struggling to put on weight, fighting off the women at work or trying to find a decent fitting pair of pants! So c'mon jump in and communicate a little! I'll try to hold back the "Muscle and Fitness" magazine guys until you are really ready to tell them your story .

P.S. Aikuchi, I was your size when I got started too. Just keep at it.

You're about the size I was when I started lifting weights right after college. I remember having a 28 waist...I could find the best designer clothes at Filene's Basement for next to nothing...oh well.

Have patience young Skywalker...we all start somewhere. Just focus and keep swinging. Heck, most of us would give our left nut to gain 5 lbs a week on a regular basis.

Yep! and a lot of us would give our right nut to have a 28" waistline again.
I think if I got into a super diet, I might see 28.5", but I think my face looks better when it's full and not sunken in at 1% bodyfat.

Talking

I wasn't planning to post these anywhere, but here are my current stats (taken in January 2006). These should make some of y'all feel better about yourselves.

Height 5'1"
Weight 110lb
Chest 31"
Bicep 12" (left slightly bigger than right, even though I'm a righty)
Waist 27"
Hips 33"
Thigh 20"
Calf 14"

Bodyfat is somewhere in the 6-8% range (assuming I used those fiddly calipers correctly).

... or 5 lbs a year in some cases, *cough*

Ok, Loopy and i are tagteaming on this one:

height 6'1
weight 231 (gonna start a 4-week cut before resuming bulking)
Chest 47"
Bicep 17 1/8"
Waist 36" (that's why I'm doing the cut )
Thigh 26"
Calf 16.75"

Bodyfat's not horrible (hey Loopy, lend me that caliper!), but I tend to get a gut when I gain, so my friend Joe who's a competitive bb and trainer is guiding me through this one. In the past, I'd just try bulking all winter and then inevitably lose a lot of that in the summer, but I'm trying to break it down into smaller 1-3 month chunks so I can keep making progress throughout the year. Baby steps.

Hot off the presses...

These are from this morning's monthly measurements.

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 182 lbs.
Chest: 40.5"
Biceps: 15.5"/15.375"
Waist: 35.5"
Thighs: 25"
Calves: 16.25"/16"

I'm still trying to lose more fat so I'd expect some of these numbers to go lower, and then after a point, I'll work my way back up again.

Thumbs up Excellent Thread!!!

First off, it's so good to see so many vertically challenged men divulging this kind of info! Always remember: SHORT GUYS RULE!!!

Secondly, I like it when we post our goals because now it's out there and everyone else can hold you accountable for you to meet them. That being said...

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 210
Waist: 34 (36 pants because of "trunk junk")

My birthday is in July and I'm treating it like a contest. I want to get to 185-190 and be buffed! I'm not into the six-pack thing and I fear I'd look deathly ill if I tried to go below a certain bodyfat level.

My main goal is to:
- Have my chest create a shelf over my stomach
- Look GREAT in clothes
- Look BETTER without 'em!

To aid in the weight loss, I've given up fried foods for Lent...and I'm not even Catholic! I just like the idea of challenging yourself for a certain amount of time to obtain a desired result. Sounds familiar...

Hulk, I'd love to swap fat loss tips with you.

O, I love your workout blog! Please teach me how to do this.

And to those of us who tower under 5'7" (170cm for our metric friends), we are so advantaged to excel in this sport! Love the idea that our range of motion is half that of our 6 foot (and taller) brethren. Our battlecry should be: COMPACT MUSCLE IS HOT!!!

Pardon me as I trip and stumble off my soapbox (It was up too high. )

Tom656711, it looks like you have a pretty good head start there. Those veins are going to eventually pump up those biceps to sleeve busting size in a few years.

Hey, Tom. The second pic shows that you (correctly) built up your triceps. That's where the real arm growth is ... but that biceps vein is gonna win you lotsa fans so buy muscle shirts for summer.

We were all in your shoes Tom. My one regret is that I never had the confidence to do this with any seriousness when I was your age. I didn't start bodybuilding in earnest until my mid-30's.

Oh well, onward and upward...

Great stats Donnie! You've come a long way.

I meant to include this in my original stats post... a pic of my "massive" 12-inch arm.

I have to admit I'm still jealous of your arm's almost perfect symmetry, 12 inches or not.

Thanks for the encouragement, loopyrhino! I might've come a long way, but I still have a long way to go.

And I agree with tom and hulkmuscle.....you have a wonderfully shaped arm, regardless of the measurement.

Great pix, Tom, but the link's not quite right (the one you have is the default for all profiles; the individual link is always at the bottom of the profile.) The correct link is:

http://www.BigMuscle.com/~Tomboy+Jock

Muchas smoochas...
