Changing Hmm...How to start this. Well, I've been coming on to this web site for quite a while. I've written a few stories, Blood Moon being one of them. Don't know if I ever will finish it. The real reason I'm here today is because I'm trying wake myself up from this pathetic state I've been in so long. I'm 5'11 and well over 350lbs. I honestly don't know when I got this big. I guess when you live with yourself you just don't see it...or chose not to see the truth. But here I am, newly 32 and wanting to stop living my life with the thought of "Always wanting, always empty". So I'm starting my quest. I go tomorrow to sign up at a local gym and start doing what I should of been doing since being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2002. I have too many people I love and care for to kill myself like this. I watch all of you guys continuing to grow and change to better yourselves and I can't tell you have inspiring it is for me to read your messages to each other. It's truly a great thing. So from time to time I will post my stats as they are, it's a heck of a long journey and I welcome your responses. That's all for now. Thank you, Jace |

"And miles to go before I sleep" Hi there Jace! Congratulations on starting your journey. Your post brought to mind a wonderful poem by Robert Frost, Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening. My favorite stanza is the last... The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,I remember being almost 300 pounds at only 5'8" back in September-October 2002. The hardest step was the first one. It slowly got easier. Remember that we're here to help encourage and support you. __________________ Donnie My Blog: Donnie's Diversions My MSN Space with pics & workout blog Jacksonville, Onslow County, NC, USA I'm reminded of the immortal last words of Socrates who said, "I Drank What?!" |

Working out for one's health is one great motivator. That was certainly in my mind when I started out six months ago. So, way to go Jace for taking your destiny in your hands. To paraphrase an old saying, "The journey of ten thousand grams begins with a single rep." |
