Muscle growth (Poser)

Hey guys,
I've been playing around with Poser to create some muscle growth animations and things I can use for my webgroup. These are some of the ones I came up with.

Enjoy!!
Russ

Hey Russ!

You did an excellent job with Poser. I'm in the process of getting Poser 5 and doing some muscle growth animations. Thanks for more inspiration.

Poser

Hey!

Thanks for the comments, and I hope to see your work with Poser, too! If you feel like collaborating on a project, just let me know. I've had some experience with Poser 5, at least the ability to morph a guy from scrawny to brawny, and I'm working on movement, transitions, and exporting into Lightwave to build entire movies.

Let me know what your experiences (successful and other) have been with Poser.

Cheers,
Russ

Russ, Here's a little clip for this thread. Kinda hard to see the transfer of muscle in these little images. Looks much better at full resolution.

Poser Tutorial

Hey, guys:

I have Poser, but I've never been able to figure out how to use it. Is there an easy way to keep the various body parts attached and proportional while adjusting the 'heroic' scale?

Hey LeatherGryphon -- great, great clips. I especially liked the last one you posted featuring muscle theft. Is there any way to post that somewhere where we can see it in all its glory?

Great job! I hope we'll see more of your work here.

Hey LeatherGryphon,

Awesome muscle theft clip!! Great job. What post processing software did you use? 3DStudio MAX, Lightwave, other??

Most of the outputs and animations I run are straight from Poser, so I don't do a lot of complex scenes involving multiple characters and props and stuff, although I want to. Could you send me the fullsize clip of the one below? I'd love to see it in detail.

For RadRX's question, you might want to look on eBay or at some other auction sites to find the Poser manual. It's a very powerful tool, and you can create some awesome movement and muscle growth using it. I just figured out how to make the body tremble as the muscles swell up... getting it to look like the muscle mass is flowing from a central point out to all the extremeties.

Anyway, for your question, it depends on how you're morphing the figure. I've started off with a juvenile figure and morphed it into a super tall, muscular figure. Changing figure type is easy to do, but hard to get it to stand in the same position or pose because of Poser's default settings.

What exactly are you trying to do with the heroic figure settings?

Cheers,
Russ

For motion post processing I use Adobe Premier 6. Great for adding transparency to the std gray poser background and superimposing it on some motion beach footage. However, I gott'a find a better way so as to avoid some "peek through" when pixels in the image are same gray as the background. I'm still new at this so with a little more practice and experimentation ...

Here's a short storyboard for the muscle theft clip.

I've only had trouble in Poser 5. For some reason, I can't adjust the left Pec/delt area on the Don models...

I'm not sure who the "Don " model is. I don't remember seeing one in the catalog I use, but then again there are a lot of variations of the few basic models. Which model is he based on? Where did you get him? .

I use the generic Poser4 "Nude Man" for secondary characters but use DAZ's "Michael 2"and "Michael 3" for drastic morphing. Michael 3 has four-segment genitals. Both "Michaels" need careful attention to details once you get above 1.0 on the morph dials but with judicious twiddling you can fill out the irregularities. It just takes a LOT of judicious twiddling. Sometimes I give up and just put my extreme morphs further away from the camera or turn them so that the bad spots don't show.

As a side note: I've sent a couple of private messages to some of the people who addressed me through this (or the other areas of this) forum but they haven't been read yet. I'm not ignoring question posed to me. Please check your private areas. (Pun intended *grin*)

The Don model is the Basic Poser 5 Nude and Casual model. It's kinda weird, since I can transform the scale of the pecs and delts, I just can't morph them to make him look muscular.

Don model limits

I noticed the same problem with adjusting the basic Don model's musclulature one group at a time. For some reason, one side doesn't respond to manual input. You can increase the overall musculature of the "body" but not the individual groups.

There are some updates and additional patches for the Don model at www.curiouslabs.com and on the web. I forgot the link to the site where I downloaded the correction to Don. Now, I use the Michael and Tomy models instead.

about that last pic, it's not found on renderotica, but on his personal site http://www.geocities.com/prometheus2...dEntrance.html

Here is another one (g-rated, as I'm not sure what we can post here).

muscle theft

I am interested in finding more muscle theft animations like these. Could you email some to me or direct me to URLs?
I am trying to get a copy of Poser to work on some of this myself as well.
Thanks.
