Yes, I hope he's happy.

However, just for the record, he competed in bodybuilding as "David Papaleo" throughout his gay porn career. It's hardly unusual to use different names in different worlds: Greg Grove/Matthew Rush, Cameron Mitchell/Caesar, etc., etc. So, the implication that he's now back to his true self strikes me as disingenuous.

I'm sure there was always plenty of David Papaleo in Tom Katt and vice versa. And I'll bet there still is, however he chooses to identify.

Personally, I think it's GREAT for him. I hope that he has truly found happiness in the woman he's chosen to be with. I mean, isn't that what it's all about? I have found happiness in the man I love and why should anyone be denied that? Is David disingenuous? I don't know and I'm not about to ask him nor am I about to judge him (not insinuating anyone was judging). I wish him the best. One of the things I liked about the article is that he's not blaming anyone or anything for being hateful toward the gay community. I think it speaks volumes for the man that it appears he's done everything pretty much on his own and has only himself to blame or praise.

Maybe I wasn't very clear. Or maybe I was and there are different opinions.
Fine either way.

Just in case I wasn't clear, what bothered me about the article wasn't anything really about David/Tom, his choices or what he said. It was what I thought was the subtext that made it read like a fable:

Young and confused, David P. turns to gay porn to make his fortune
and find fame and happiness. He becomes his alter-ego, Tom Katt,
takes lots of roids and party drugs and fools around with boys, but
never wins another contest and is never happy. Only when he leaves
gay porn, boys and drugs behind does he become the man he was always
intended to be: heterosexual, Chrsitian David Papaleo.

I just think that's bullshit. For ten years, he was a gay porn star. But he was still David Papaleo in 99% of his life, just like Caesar is Cameron Mitchell, Matthew Rush is Greg Grove, Doug Perry is Darin Lannaghan.
Some are gay, some are straight, some bi. Some party, some don't.

Anyway, that's all I meant to communicate.

I was prepared to scoff, but having read it, I can't. I still can't understand how a man who obviously loved getting fucked by men as much as he did can now "identify as heterosexual." But, whatever. I'm all for any man who is determined to expose the fundamentalists for what they are: the opposite of Christians.

from what I saw of Tom Katt in video's, etc... he seemed quite, seductive... who knows what was going on inside his head if he enjoyed it or not... apparently he decided or was brainwashed whatever way you want to look at it, that it wasn't the right thing for him, but I'll always remember him with a kind of respect for his... passion... and of course his muscle...
