Hurricane Watch 2006 In 16 days time the Atlantic Hurricane season starts up again with all the possible problems that can entail. And following last year's incidents in New Orleans, I have armed myself with Weatherbug (for live hurricane landfall data), YAHOO Weather's widget (for forecast weather), NOAA's doppler radar (for my own forecasts) and the NOAA tracking forecast (for the offical forecast) and I am offering all of this data to you (so that if a hurricane comes within 500 miles of you, you can scarper off to Montana or the like). However, I am not entirely sure where everyone is, so could you please reply to this post if you are interested and state whereabouts in the United States you are so that on June 1st 2006 (when the hurricane season starts) I can produce a list of average strike hits for that location. For instance, if someone said they lived in Birmingham, AL I would therefore be able to say that you have never had a direct strike from a hurricane. __________________ The stronger they are, the more muscled they are |

Living on the southeastern coast of North Carolina (Jacksonville, NC) gives me ample experience with hurricanes. I dread the start of every hurricane season and long for the end of each season. I just wish everyone a safe hurricane season 2006. __________________ Donnie My Blog: Donnie's Diversions My MSN Space with pics & workout blog Jacksonville, Onslow County, NC, USA I'm reminded of the immortal last words of Socrates who said, "I Drank What?!" |

You should never get blase about lack of hurricanes on the West Coast! Hurricane Nora (1997) made landfall in the Baja California and was a tropical storm for the California / Nevada / Arizona border Hurricane Lester (1992) also made landfall in the Baja California and continued into Arizona and New Mexico as a major tropical storm Hurricane Raymond (1989) followed a similar track So what ever you do do not get blase about living on the West Coast please! It's that sort of attitude that makes people want to ride out hurricanes and regret the idea. __________________ The stronger they are, the more muscled they are |

3 in 20 years, and none of those were news-worthy. See? The West really is the best! (Except for that little earthquake thing we occasionally get...) __________________ God is in the rain. |

Well Celtic, living in the midwest doesn't mean I don't worry. I worry about my sister in Texas and some family friends in Florida. |

I'm talking with a buddy of mine (at the time of this message) and he's in the eye of tropical storm Alberto and today's what.... the 13th only? |
