Pat Robertson: Powerlifter!!1eleventyone Did you know that Pat Robertson can leg-press 2000 pounds! You too can enjoy the secret of his success!!! ("Recipe" available for registered members... I'm not going to bother.) Leg-pressing 2000 lbs.? May God have mercy on your soles. |
| |||
How can he leg-press anything.... ....when he's so full of shit? |
| |||
Hmm.. me thinks that Pat Robertson needs to learn what a proper leg press looks like. We won't comment on the hands being used to straighten out his legs nor will we comment on the fact that there is at least one old lady in my gym that does the same thing with 450 (and she does it without using her hands). If we were to force Pat Robertson to use proper form and to go full motion he might only be able to do 180 for 5 or 6 reps. For his next trick: He will ressurect himself from the grave all while bench pressing a fat lady humming the theme from Titantic. Scott __________________ In a world of old memories... I have just found a video file on the site and this is the explaination Lady Guest: Bar = 45lbs, 2 x 40 lbs = 45 + 90 = 135lbs (for 10 reps) Robertson 1st Lift: Bar = 45lbs, 10 x 45 lbs = 495lbs x 13 reps Robertson 2nd Lift: Bar = 45lbs, 10 x 45lbs, 2 x 100lbs = 695lbs x 10 reps Robertson 3rd Lift: Bar = 45lbs, 10 x 45lbs, 4 x 100lbs = 895lbs x 10 reps Robertson 4th Lift: Bar = 45lbs, 12 x 45lbs, 4 x 100lbs = 985lbs x 10 reps It would appear that he is therefore rounding up to the nearest whole hundred. If you are interested in seeing the video in question, go to the website and select the Real Player option. As to the 2,000lb alleged leg press, I am wondering if he did 2 985lb presses? __________________ The stronger they are, the more muscled they are |

He's full of shit alright! He does 2 X 1000 lbs (well, 985 really) and uses his hands!!! The leg press is the easiest machine to do enormous weight on, unless you use proper form. However, Pat's never been one for playing by the rules... __________________ God is in the rain. |

Wikipedia's take on the debate Leg press claims Robertson claims on his web site that through training and his "Age-Defying energy shake", he is able to leg press 2,000 pounds. This claim has been cited as impossible by outside sources, since 2,000 pounds would be an exceptional accomplishment for a world-class athlete, to say nothing of a 76-year-old man like Robertson. Additionally, a standard leg press machine is not equipped to handle that much weight, and a modified or custom machine would be required in order to hold the 44-different 45-pound plates. For comparative purposes, when Dan Kendra set the Florida State University record of 1,335 pounds, the leg press machine required extensive modifications to hold the proper amount of weight, and the capillaries in both of Kendra's eyes burst during his successful attempt. Thus, Robertson's claimed achievement would add 665 pounds to the best-ever total of Kendra, a top athlete in his physical prime, who would go on to play professional football in the National Football League and become a Navy SEAL. In response to the skepticism of this claim, Robertson's website has claimed that his doctor is able to leg press 2,700 pounds, and that "It is not nearly as hard as the authors of these reports make it out to be. (What "these reports" are exactly was not specified). A video has also been provided supposedly demonstrating Robertson doing several reps with a weight of 1,000 pounds. __________________ The stronger they are, the more muscled they are |

It's TRUE! He really CAN Leg Press 2000 pounds! All you non-believers are trusting your eyes and not your faith. With faith, you can do ANYTHING! Just don't trust your eyes. Your eyes belong to the devil! Now, go and buy his protein shake. |
| |||
Hmmm... he must be using the metric pound. |

NOT! He'd have been better off if he'd tried a more realistic weight. For a man of his age he sure hasn't learned much. |
| |||
In the Times today... an article said his protein powder had been taken off the shelves at GNC.(faith-based bodybuilding?)The man tried to buy the Bank of Scotland,Laura Ashley...He owns refinery property in California.It's the original"Prosperity Ministry"(for Pat Robertson!)When will we start taxing these bastards? |

How can someone who believes in Hell not fear it? I just don't get it. |

Robertson lacks moral weight A slightly off-topic retort to Robertson's claims (with on-topic metaphors) Robertson should be trying to lift his moral compass. It is obviously too weighty to bear. Why would anyone believe anything that comes from a guy who was business partners with Nigerian political sleazeball Charles Taylor in the seedy West-African diamond war business and diverted tax-exempt "charity" airplanes to run diamonds. Robertson is a fraud and ought to be in an institution for the ethically surreal. |
