Never underestimate WALKING! A friend of mine just took third in the lightweight novice division. For cardio, he would do long 3 to 5 mile walks at a fast pace every day. He liked it better than walking on the treadmill (even though I do that at a high incline). Why? Two reasons: 1. The natural obstacles of the terrain were often challenging (what looks like a small hill when you're driving by it is actually a good sized hill when you're walking). 2. The STARES he got from men and women who drove by...and drove by again! LOL |

It's a cliche because it's true You are what you eat. Without a change in diet (as in don't go on a diet, change it), you'll make it more difficult for yourself. jhdawg's post covers the basics. Easier said than done, though, especially in today's fastfood world. |

We can give you guidelines, but I think you really need to seek out a trained dietician or nutritionist to provide you with a daily menu. As O mentioned, JD's post covers the basic concepts: high protein, lower fats, and careful on the sugary carbs (fibrous and dark green leafy carbs are always welcome), lots of H20, etc. Good luck. The diet, in combo with weights and cardio, should prove an effective fat-burning solution. __________________ What's wrong with wanting more? If you can fly, then soar!
