Hot tub stories Anyone that knows me knows that I have body dysmorphia. I don't have a bad body, but I don't recognize the gains that I have made. Tonight I was at a friend's house. She has a hot tub and invited other friends of ours. One has a kid about seven years old. At some point, we began talking about bodies. The kid has his father's body type "and is fairly muscular." The kid flexed, which does nothing for me on a seven year old, though I admit his father is hot. "Oh, you should feel Scott's muscles." "Can I?" says the seven year. So, I flex for him, and he feel my bicep. "WOW! You should be a wrestler!" and goes on to say how strong I am. I quip how I can beat his father up, and he agrees. There is a social anxiety toward acknowledging another's muscle gains that children can cut right through, and it's kinda nice to experience when it happens. __________________ http://www.scott-safier.us "Stand firm for what you believe in until or unless logic or experience prove you wrong. out of the mouths of babes Heh heh heh... yes, it's true, kids can be funny that way. I've got a good friend in NYC who is as big as a house. And it's interesting to walk down the street with him b/c it's not uncommon for little kids to stop and stare and even point at him. They'll call him "the hulk" or "superman" and will turn to ask their parents about this giant guy - and the parents are always somewhat embarrassed. Funny part is that my friend is so used to it by now that he doesn't really find it all that odd. *chuckle* - J. __________________ 6'3", 225#, growth-oriented lifter.
