Back in the 1980's everyone used egg protein the way everyone swears by whey protein today. Here is a listing from bodybuilding.com of several egg proteins. However, I'd suggest asking someone at a local health food store.

I remember when I made my first (failed) attempt to gain weight around 1981-82: the only things on the market were Weider and Hoffman weight gainer, both casein. Even the notorious and unlamented Cybergenics had yet to raise its ugly head. Now, there are more brands than you can shake a stick at.

I personally like Muscle Milk (which has fat) and EvoPro (which does not), both by Cytosport. Just my 2-cents.

Sorry, I was just reminded that both of these contain a mix of whey as well as other proteins. My bad.

There are a couple sites online that sell protein in bulk, and will make it to your specifications (whey isolate, casein, whey concentrate, etc.). A couple competitors I know swear by them because they're cheap.

None of the names I recall are coming up on Google, so maybe someone else here knows of them.

Question Are you sure you're allergic?

...or is that a self-diagnosis?Individual products&individual digestive tracts vary enough that you just may have to find a formula that works for you through trial&error.Lots of powders that look great in a test tube are completely indigestible in the human body.I currently use Methoxy-Pro&don't have any problems;but some highly recommended brands make me sick as a dog.

I was chatting with Ted yesterday: yes he is sure & he has been medically tested. I'm sure with the help of all of us he will find what he needs. I just wish I had the money to buy him a proper gym membership...

On a side note, many whey proteins make me feel nauseous after drinking them, but I don't think it's an allergy.

Unhappy As I've said before...

...If you're not accustomed to high doses of amino acids;they may give you the shits for a couple of days.If they persist,or if you get serious bloating&gas;it's not the product for you.
