This is annoying

Personally, the site has been crashing or whatever a lot recently (5 times in 2-3 weeks if I've counted right) I would like to know why actually. I mean if the server is going down, maybe it's time to change? If nothing else, what is ya'lls thoughts on this?

if you really wanna know... my thoughts are, why does somebody have to post and complain about it EVERY SINGLE TIME it happens? we all know it happened, and it's obviously come back up now if you can read and start posting again, so can't we just let it go for once?

Wait, we've talked about it before?

Well, I didn't know that. Guess I got an answer that's for sure, just not one I was expecting lol.

Speaking as someone who runs other sites out of his own pocket, I can say that my hackles go up whenever people kvetch about their "free" sites not being available. After all, anybody can complain... but it takes a real champion to step up and offer real help.

If anything, downtime here should make you realize how much you VALUE this site when it IS available, and how much time, money and effort is invested thanklessly by flexodus so that WE all have a place to hang out. 95% of the effort goes into making all of this appear effortless.

I breathe a huge sigh of relief every time MGS comes back online, and I'm always glad to see it alive and well.

Thank you Flex & OptimusX

I agree that the down time makes us appreciate the forum that Flex provides out of his own pocket. However, this site has suddenly been going down a LOT recently, and it would be nice to know why, and what, if anything any of us could do/donate to make it more reliable. This site used to be rock-solid stable, and now it seems to go down several times a week.I'd just like to know what's going on, as I'm sure MM would. Also, lets not forget the moderating & technical assistance of Optimus. Those two deserve our Thanks.

It's my impression that the ISP is not really monitoring the site, and we have to wait until Flex notices that it is not up to call and bitch at them. Since Flex is really busy, that takes time. That's my guess.

Whoa nelly!!! Buffling, I'm not trying to act like some prick on Dragonaide's\Shadowlord's site, I mean sure I don't pay any money, but maybe I could collect something together if the time truly came. I've known that Flex is a very busy man, if he wasn't he would post (not trying to make a point with that) and say what's happening. I made this thread so we could discuss what might be going on.

Crashes

I have also been curious about why the site has been going down so much. Flex & Optimus, if there is anything that we as readers can do to help, PLEASE post it! I truly enjoy this site and appreciate all the hard work you have put into it.

I 100% agree. I mean this site is has very loyal people who would be willing to do something if needed. Also can anyone do simple computer programming\drawing? I think I got some ideas for some new smilies which would go very well with the site's theme. PM me if you can.
