Exoskeleton update

You might recall that, awhile back, the US Army was investigating the creation of a kind of "suit" for soldiers that gave them extra strength, speed or endurance.

Well, it appears that a company has gotten a contract to actually build the thing. It contains a motor that you wear attached to your butt - it's so "smelly and loud" that OSHA won't let them run it indoors.

?It makes you feel really, really strong. You get the sensation that you have a lot of strength. I sort of felt like The Hulk and I?m a skinny guy. I wore a 100-pound weight on my back and it felt I was carrying nothing like that amount,? he says. And he was only wearing the lower body - the legs and back support section.

Once the legs are mated to the powered arms, the full "powerloader" exoskeleton will be even stronger. ?The upper body portion has arms that can hold a 40-pound weight at arms length for three minutes,? Main says.

I'll buy one!

Boy although it could be nice, I don't think it would be useful in a combat situation. Unless you strapped lotsa body armor and such on it. Walking suppile line perhaps?

Anyone besides me noticed that the picture looks a LOT like Galbadian Soldiers from FF 8? (Boy I'm so white and nerdy )

Well, I wouldn't have without your reference, but yes I can see Galbadian soldiers as well.

Some of the exoskeleton looks a lil bit like them, but the helmet is what really brings the whole picture together to make it look so much like them.
