Blood Elves Declared Too Femme, Put on Steroids Some World of Warcraft players didn't like their avatars to be called girly-men. Read all about it... |

Oh... my god. This is a black mark on Blizzard. They should have ignored their playerbase, if they wanted to play a big guy, play an orc. They are elves, and in the warcraft world, elves are skinny tree people!!!! |

If I woke up tomorrow with the build of a shirtless night elf male I wouldn't complain. I'd ramp up the food instake and the gym visits, but I wouldn't complain. Actually while we're on the subject, humans are pretty well built too. |

I never liked those blasted blood elves in the first place ... dont trust 'em. what are they doin on the horde anwayys. Hoorrible images of near clotheless blood elf females dancing in the undead undercity. yuuueach. |

I did like the changes they made to the ogres over a year ago. They used to be giant, flabbly, shirtless blobs. Now they have firm solid roid-guts. |

Why do i feel so tempted to re-render the character selection screen for WoW in the way *i* would like to have them as choices ... >ponders >>> |

There actually is quite a bit of insight against Blizzard's decision on WoW's official forum. As a semi-serious player, I kinda have to agr? that the reasoning behind the change is pretty bogus, and the old model being sexier. |
| |||
The screenshots in the article you'vwe liniked to are totally bogus. The discussion thread here on the WoW forums shows what they REALLY look like: LINK SO don't jump to any conclusions, OK? I didi and now I'm tryin to see if my sig can be revoved form the online petition. |

Hmm, yeah, the screenshots don't like too bad. The first article looked pretty extreme though... |

That's why you take everything you find on the internet with a grain of salt. If you actually read the WOW threads many people are asking Blizzard to revert to the originals.. it'[s become a big discussion/argument right now. |

I like beefcake as much as the next guy, but I think there is a place for the sleek, slender types, and I think that the original blood elf models worked in this respect. I'm not one to ogle computer-generated images, but as a wise man once said, "if you're going to be playing the game for hours on end, you'd better like the ass you're staring at." It's why I made my priest a night elf against all advice, and I enjoy the game more for it. Blizzard's pretty slick on the marketing side, but I think that switching to beefier models would be a mistake. 500k people (a weak estimate, but there are a lot of them) around the world who love anime still play Final Fantasy XI and Ragnarok Online because they like cutesy anime characters, and Blizzard could potentially pull a great deal of these customers if they wanted with the slim, cutesy models they originally set forward. It's a little cutthroat, but hey, we're living in a capitalist society. |

The only cute about RO is the artwork, and FFXI is anime? Anime does not generally mean cutesy. Anime is the term for Japanese animation in general. Uh, animes like Hellsing = not cute. __________________ WRRYYYYYY! |
