Did he know?

An odd thing happened to me at work tonight:

I was working with a customer who only dropped by to ask questions (on a product my store doesn't sell!) when I glanced over and saw a very big guy nearby who wasn't looking my way. Taking note of the size I did a double, maybe even a triple take. The customer even told me to go off and help him and other customers but I stayed by wanting to be fully helpful (cause I'm just the greated retail worker ever.)

Soon after finishing with my other customer I approach the big guy. He seemed to be a weighlifter type in a yellow polo shirt. He might have just been the type of guy who was naturally big but it looked like he had a really nice pair of pecs, something that most men don't develop through genes alone.

When I went up to talk to him I said my usual spiel "Anything we can help you with?" and then he walked up very, very close to me.

"No thanks, I just like to look."

Maybe its just me, in fact it probably is just me, but I swear he knew I was checking him out. And I think he liked it.

Yes, it was probably just my imagination (although that would include him bouncing his pecs and catching me after work for a worship session) but I can't really say. I'll just go with my daydreams.

And he wore glasses too! Glasses on musclemen are hot.

What kind of retail is this? If it's a grocery store, or something like that, then it's you. However I've worked high-end retail for a long time, and there are guys that wonder why women pay $900+ for a single pair of shoes...

I sell expensive stuff.

Sorry, but I'm paranoid about my personal info.

Did he know? Yeah, he probably did. I'm no big muscle guy, but do look okay in a muscle shirt or coolmax and can usually tell when salespeople are noticing my arms or pecs and not just doing a standard "may I help you" routine alone. Do any other readers of this forum notice when they are being noticed?

Generally I can tell, although some times friends tell me I'm being checked out when I don't notice. So, I guess I can tell sometimes, and the other times I don't know about... Since I am a sales person, it usually happens in reverse. When it happens, and I catch it, I usually play ignorant.

Yes, it can happen to salespeople. Best Buy puts the salespeople in polo shirts that can really help the ones with muscle stand out from the crowd.
