James "tiny" Vest http://www.prosizefitness.com/transformation.html WARNING: Site has a lot of embedded hard-rock music without friendly "off" switches. Kill your sound before going there. I'll just hold off on any comments about the site overall. Good images on the page I linked to here. The guy is definitely in my "OMG" category. (I know RPJ will just love him....) Best to everyone, R PS: two more links. Root of site: http://www.prosizefitness.com/ His 2006 pics. (Awesome!) http://www.prosizefitness.com/proorbust.html I'm still floored. I read his website.... I read his website and I gotta say I love his outlook on life and the sport of bodybuilding. He's down to earth and tells it straight up. He's recognized that the sport of bodybuilding has few mountains and LOTS of valleys. But we love it anyway; right guys? |

A bit off topic, but let me rant. Quote:
I'm actually really glad you pointed this out. The guy is really impressive, and I'm thinking a lot about what you & he wrote. Sort of a "why am I doing this?" mode, for me. I had some injuries (pinched nerve) and had to stay out of the gym until it healed. I'm starting back shortly after 3 months. On the other hand, I'm feeling so tight it's crazy. I was making progress and was on my way to being a 240# musclebear, and now I just feel like a 230# out-of-shape-guy. I also am getting close to 40 and I'm realizing that my body just isn't going to take lifting & cardio like it has for the past several years. I didn't have an athletic foundation when I was a kid, so my baseline is pretty poor. I'm getting the physical messages that I need to start caring for my body NOW or I'm going to be in trouble when I'm older. So, I'm thinking of moving my workouts more to a yoga-and-powerlifting mode. I need shorter intense periods with the weights, and time enough on yoga to allow poses to really set correctly. I'm in Atlanta and may look into work with the Yoga-Doc as referenced in another thread (http://www.musclegrowth.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=5644). He might be right up my alley. Heck, I'd be EXTREMELY happy to have a body like his. Where most other yoga instructors I know are flexible but generally skinny, this guy is built! If anyone has suggestions here, I'd love to have them. I'll probably split this to another thread if anyone does. -R |

wow, those gym pics of him flexing...he looks like a jacked-up version of Russel Crowe. Thanks for the link, and RyBear, good luck getting back into the gym and getting huge! |

Rybear Rybear, You're never too old. I'm 47 and will be 48 when I compete again next year. Hopefully, you won't let your brain get in the way of your progress. Don't pull yourself down, man. Age is just a number. Dave. |

By the way, RyBear: Confidential sources inform me that Tiny is actually 44, so you've got several years to catch up to him! :-) xoxo Richard |

Hey just wanted to say thanks for the link RybearATL. This guy is to me a total find....there is something very attractive about that transformation page as he really looks like an unlikely bodybuilder...long haired biker type who shapes up - big time... I love the captions he has put of "hey somethings happening here" attached to a pair of what look like newly massive legs...Certainly that pic and the following leg pics are awesome...it's almost as if it all happened accidentally but the results speak for themselves. Also it's good to see a bodybuilder guy who can reflect and write his thoughts and does not put down bland statements that tell u little about someone's motivations/fears/ideals. I get so bored with some descriptions online that are a bunch of pics and bland text that tell u nothing of how personal the whole bodybuilding life is or what someone's real honest motivations were. PLus his pics rock...He really to me looks like the architypal genuinely masculine but not agressive/bigoted musclehead who really is not into the posing side and really just wants to get big and lift. |
