I know it's a lot of ground to cover, but I'm dividing it up pretty well, so it'll be easy enough to follow, and (hopefully) to write.

I'm into superhero stuff, too (wouldn't mind seeing your stuff, although I'm sure I've missed obvious links somewhere!). This story definitely started out with a superhero theme, and many of the next chapters are going to have similar themes as the characters are first given their powers. As the story progresses, though, it's going to be about how they come to terms with life with power. All of the characters are going too make assumptions about the power that, when certain things are revealed to them, don't turn out to be entirely true. We'll see superheroics, but it's not all about the superheros, themselves. We're already seeing Jared start to wonder about a few things, and the other characters will have similar questions to ask. One will even resent the powers, entirely.

Hopefully that wasn't too long-winded. I'm trying not to bore people with all the character expose, but it's important to know these people at least somewhat before we shove them head-first into the realm of the superhuman.

I hope to post chapter two momentarily, assuming my connection holds up. It takes place in a very different setting with a very different character...

I like the superhero stuff, too! That's why I put this one first. It's not going to focus entirely on the superhero aspect, though. A lot of the characters make certain assumptions when they first receive their powers that don't always turn out to be 100% accurate. There will be superheroics, though.
