new to rp

I know this will sound kinda stupid, but I don't know how to RP too well. Anyone care to try and teach me? I'll be in the chat rooms as much as I can.

Remember that different forms of role play have slight differences- for example, pen-and paper often calls for more acting skills than chat does, since you're interacting with others at a table. Likewise, voice chat brings that element in as well; for example, you might speak in a deeper voice as your character grows, to show he's more manly.. Most of the RPs here seem to be told in first-person, but that's not a given.

The main thing is to use your imagination when creating the character and describing what goes on. Use detailed descriptions to help flesh things out; How tall is the hero? What color are his eyes? (A metaphor's often good here.) Does he walk with a swagger or with extravagant gestures? Many players use existing photos to help paint apicture ho how their chracters look. Sometimes I even ad music to my RPs.
Same for transformations; Do the muscles pulse like a beating heart, or swell smoothly like a balloon?
