Nah, that's a "drink our beer because it will make you even stupider than rival brands do" thing. All beer commercials fall into one or both of two categories as regards message:

1. "If you drink this beer, you will hang around with sexy women (the kind who, right now, would probably sprint in the opposite direction if they saw you)."

2. "This beer will make you stupid. No, stupider than that. When you drink this beer, you'll be lucky if you have enough functioning brain cells to remember your name. It's going to fuck you up so bad that if you survive until you're sober, you'll be lucky if you aren't bankrupted by the consequences of what you did while stupid."

Of course, message #2 only appeals to stupid people in the first place.

At least 60% of the population is, as far as psychologists can tell, actually incapable of critical thinking. Around 40% of the population of the U.S. believes the earth is less than 10000 years old. Both McCain and Romney got around 50% of the vote when they ran for president, despite both campaigns basically saying "we're going to actively press for more of the same stuff that caused all the problems the country is suffering". These three things -- and many more like them -- being the case, it's clear that message #2 is actually an actively useful selling point.

I've decided that it isn't because everyone is stupid. It's because we all have two ways of thinking. The first way is intuitive / emotional, which is what we are all born with; that's why babies cry when they are hungry. The other way is rational / thoughtful which takes training, time, education, and effort. And those of us that try hardest to be as rational as much as is possible, still occasionally fall-back to intuitive / emotional thinking. If you think humans usually react rationally, you haven't been paying attention.
