Cricket anyone? Don't you just love the sound of crickets at night? That and deep distant thunder and the soft patter of rain? |

Crickets, like spiders are OK outside the house. Unlike spiders though, crickets are not even tolerated in the garage. And yeah, I know Florida evenings. After a hot summer day the sun goes down around 8 or 9:00PM and it finally gets cool enough to not be hot. The stars are starting to show, the palm trees are silhouetted against the western glow of late sunset, or perhaps there's storm clouds so far away that you can see the lightning illuminate the clouds but can't hear the thunder. Some call it "Heat Lightning". The air is heavy with moisture and settles on the lawn furniture. The bugs start their evening concert. A gator gronks in the canal. The bats dart across the sky feasting on the bugs. Early evening, best time of day in Florida. |

At this point, I wouldn't mind a few crickets, we're at the tail end of one of the snowiest recorded in Chicagoland as well as one of the coldest. We're all ready for spring here.......although that might bring early flooding........ |
