Thierry Mugler's Muscle Transformation

Has anyone heard the recent news of French fashion designer and former ballet dancer Thierry Mugler? According to Page Six last week, he shut down his fashion operations, isolated himself from his friends and focused on building his muscles and becoming a new person - muscle freak Manford Mugler.

Though he has definitely used lots of steroids and has had some pretty bad work done that has affected his face, I kind of think that the whole idea of creating a whole new persona based on massive muscle is incredibly hot.

What do you all think?

Not in this case, it isn't. He's clearly got some body dysmorphia issues, if he's that obsessive to the point of shutting out all contact.

I agree. He looks like a psycho muscle-daddy fantasy but he's living the dream too closely. If he had transitioned into this more slowly (and wasn't changing his name to Manfred) then this would be awesome. Instead I'm scared for the guy. Hopefully he gets some help (and keeps the muscles.) Seriously, this is not a good thing.

And what's going on with his genitals? Either someone had too much fun with photoshop or he is doing some seriously unhealthy things to his scrotum.

EDIT: Okay, so let's add on some info. This transformation took YEARS, not months. And has he really been 'incommunicado' or did he just find new friends? The swolled scrotum thing still tips me over to the self-abuse theory but I'm thinking he's just having a mid-life crisis. Hopefully this crisis is roid free but I suspect that too, unfortunately.

But isn't it fun to have a muscle mystery on our hands?

I don't see what everyone is so worked-up about. His face doesn't look all that different to me, and his genitals are blurred, so you they can't be seen anyway. His body is nice, but it isn't "freaky." What's the big deal?

His face looks different enough to be slightly misshapen, probably from all the drugs he had to take to get that big at 59. Plus you can totally see his dick in that shot, what are you talking about?

It is probably something he has dreamed of becoming for a long time. More power to him! Damn! To pack on muscle like that at the age of 59 is incredible! And if he wants to juice that is his choice and he is the one paying for it.

in addition to roids, it is also possible that he took HGH injections ( human growth hormones ) which, in addition to muscle growth, will also cause bone growth along with other organs to grow.

OMG - I'm confusing my gay French fashion designers. I confused Mugler with Jean Paul Gautier and was even more mightily impressed!

Mugler was a very handsome man, but aside from the difference between 50 and 59 you can't chalk everything up to bad plastic surgery. Looks to me like he's combatting face wasting due more to HIV than low bodyfat, though I may be wrong. There are many reasons the man may have wanted to reinvent himself as an uberhot muscledaddy. I suspect that first and foremost, Mugler wanted to be appreciated for his body more than his wealth, creativity or fame. The implication of that statement, that preferring to be loved for one's body over being loved for oneself (creativity alone is only part of the whole) is unintentionally pessimistic; I only hope that at some time in Mugler's life, and that at some point in the future, someone will love him for (egad!) his other (non-physical!) attributes.

To tell you the truth, I think his transformation looks very unnatural and hasty. His muscle structure looks really messed up, and I believe his swollen genitals is from the pumping process. I do not see any evidence of photo manipulation; however, someone could have easy photoshoped his tool.

Definitely not a good choice for him, so late in his life.

i think it's just another dude who has gone too crazy with the HGH and vacuum pump on his d***. I totally agree with you that say he's not that big because he's not. He's just very very leant and ripped. His pecs and arms aren't very big. I mean, I guess he looks good for the look he's going for, but I like 'em WAY bigger. He's showing total signs of overdoing the HGH, large bloated abs, extremely vascular, big chin, receding hairline, forehead ridge, etc. If he'd take some more test, he might fill out a little better. thanks for posting this, this is a good example of the negative side effect of HGH.. if you do it right though, you can get some incredible.. and incredibly HOT results!

I'd agree Thierry probably been on some supplements, but apparently he was muscle building before so its not all 'roids.
