This site has gone down the tubes

OK, I've had it with the spam appearing on this site recently. I used to like to come here to post my 3D growth images and stories but the site has become a trash recepticle for straight porn, toothpaste ads, illegal or inneffective drugs, and links to virus sites.

I really feel sorry for the people who have come to this site in the last year or so. They really missed the glory days and wonderful images and fresh muscle growth stories from the best in the genre. That's all gone now.

Yes there are still a few stories left out there and there are a few good images to be found here, and the archive was finally made available as a download so there's no reason for me to come back here. All the best stories have been written.

All things change and this site has changed too much for me. Websites go through a life cycle just like everything else and this site has reached a tired old age. So without blaming anybody or with bad feelings for anybody I say goodbye to the many web friends I've met here. I don't want to stick around to see this site go through the final death throes.

wow that's kinda outta left field.. the archive's all that's good on the site? thanks from all us who are currently writing stories.. sorry we don't live up to your expectations LG. And as for the spam it's annoying but they're getting better at bypassing anti-spam mechanisms as even my work e-mail account is getting spammed (actually my whole department) and we never use work e-mail outside of our closed firewalled network.

It's true though. A person can only do so much. If you want something more then offer to assist or just enjoy it for what it is.

Oh, I don't like to think that I've passed my prime as far as writing goes. I'd like to be one of the 'best,' some day.

I think there are a lot of talented authors on this site. Artists too. And I don't think there's so much spam as to mar a person's enjoyment.

Umm... you don't just chop down your mailbox because you recieve spam. You don't go to sites because they DON'T have spam, you go there because it interests you and theres people to be interested in. The forum has plenty of interest left for me, there are no exclusive artists here so you can't expect consistent work and its exciting to see new stuff crop up. The evolution forum really is my only good source of fresh morphs and stories.

In my case, it's frustrating seeing spam accounts being registered at the same time I'm looking at who are online. Until the forum has a better way to authenticate valid registrations (not sure if the latest version of vBulletin is up to it), it would be nice for someone to be able to delete the spam as soon as these are posted and disable the offending accounts.

Well, its up to us the members to keeo the trash out and keep the site going great. Dont let a few bad apples spoil it.

I've heard similar complaints from other long-time users. The SPAM is annoying, but if you notice, no one reads it. It's probably easy to stop -- the first post requires moderator approval. I think Flex and Optimus are both too busy for that.

As for the site going down hill -- things change. To be honest, I don't read the newer stories.

I know I need to start writing again. Soon says the procrastinator. But then, LG was never really a fan of mine ;-)

I really appreciate the site. There is a thread about Coming Out as a Muscle Lover that really explains why I love it. This site has always been a safe space for gay men who love muscle, and maybe I've been out of it, but I haven't noticed hets taking it over. Maybe I need to pay more attention?

Thank god for this site is all I can say. I have been on here for some time now and though I don't post enough I still greatly value this site. It is my safe haven for things I have never told another person.

I really don't see that much problematic content on here. If I will sort through spam to get to my crap email I will certainly to read and view the posts here.

I think it's informative and interesting. I love the ideas that come from group members. Sure, there's more spam than I'd like but we don't live in a perfect world.

Let's do something, go to the SPAM messages and click the Report button (the one with the ! in the upper right corner) In a forum I know if a post gets enough reports it gets deleted...

do you really want to do that every time? I still think some active members should be made mods. The ones who always step up to do something and contribute regurally(please excuse the spelling error). like dallasmsl or Corwin

Lately I've noticed things have begun to slow down as well, but I still think this forum still has some kick left in it. Images and morphs are always good to look at, but I guess no one new has come along and done any more, or is willing to make any themselves. There are still some good stories out there, and several decent pieces as well. True, they're not super great as they were in the "Golden Age" if you call it, but they still have quality to them.

As a novice writer, i hope to be able to create at least a few decent pieces that would help bring some excitement to the site. True, I may not be as talented as others, but I'm making the best effort I can to pitch in and help. Coming up with new, fresh ideas isn't always easy however, since every bit of muscle growth theme has already been done somewhere or another

Anyways, don't give up hope just yet and keep working towards building a better future for the forum.
