New manga with muscle Sort of. It came out back in 2004 in Asia, but like all mangas and Japanese things in general it took awhile for it to get to the U.S. Only sometime earlier this year (don't know exactly when, but just earlier) this manga came out in the U.S. It's called "Phantom" and what caught my attention was the front cover. The main male character has one H-E-L-L of a hot bod. Lemme hopefully put a picture in your head: Take Cloud Strife's head and turn his hair orange. Then take Goku's body, shrink the upper arm (bi's and tri's) a couple inches. Add a futuristicy looking police outfit on the body, give him a machine gun, and you basically got the main character. Bad news is, they really don't show his muscle too well in the actual manga, but it's been a good read so far (and this is coming from someone who don't really too many mangas). Grab a copy if you want to, maybe gawk at the bod for awhile even if you don't find it interesting. Muscle is muscle. __________________ In the MGS FC's I am Psycho Mantis! I still think for the best balance of beefy guys with good art and story is Fullmetal Alchemist. The manga, that is. |

If you like a mix of a little muscle and some decent storyline then try bleach manga ( the anime is meh now). By the way, if you buy the actual manga books you could save money by downloading them from certain websites. A pretty good download site for bleach is http://bleachportal.net/ and I'm a bit of a manga addict so I might be able to tell you where to download whatever manga (remember maybe) so pm me if you're looking for one. |

These should work. Volume two has some muscle on the cover as well. http://i11.tinypic.com/669s9rd.jpg http://i14.tinypic.com/6379imc.jpg |

http://www.onemanga.com/ is a free online viewer for several mangas like Bleach, Gantz and some other stuff. One manga that might be of interest is Eyeshield21, a football manga. The "main" team has skinny or fat people, but all of the other teams have some rather nice eye candy. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/redkage/03.jpg __________________ Ancient Proverb: Whatever doesn't kill you today will only make you sore the next morning. redkage |

The Grappler Baki mangas are just as choc full of muscle as the anime and OVA were, if not more so. I think you can still find the raw scans of the newest volumes on the net. Speaking of Tough, I ended up getting the six U.S. books earlier in the summer. Haven't read through them yet. Sort of bought it on the strength of the anime (so-so plot but the action is good. i think it was called shootfighter tekken). I believe new Tough volumes are also still in publication in Japan. |
