| Li'l Abner Yachirobi posted about this one in his Muscle in Movies post, but being a fan of campy stuff like that, I feel as though this one deserves its own post. Anybody get a hold of the DVD yet? Would love to see a clip of all those dudes who take the hunk formula. | Since Capp married him off, the whole "Sadie Hawkins Day" thing, which had been very popular, didn't work. So he invented Abner's hitherto unknown little brother, Tiny Yokum, perpetually 15 1/2 years old, a blond hunk. Google tells me he's been mentioned in this forum before. |

| Is anyone aware that Frank Frazetta used to work for Al Capp on "Lil Abner"? Frank's work on muscle heroes like Tarzan, John Carter and Flash Gordon is legendary. His work on "Lil Abner" was probably the best the strip ever looked. He certainly knew how to do right by big and brawny muscular males. |

| Nice comic strip!!!!! Pretty homoerotic stuff! By the way, there are clips of what may be the whole 1940s lil' abner film on Youtube... I'm not sure if there's any good stuff in that version... but this is NOT the musical version which was made in the 1950s, so sadly, the clip of all those dudes taking the formula is still elusive... |
