Nice set of pics pirate. The alpha male in No. 5 looks like a genie just liberated from a bottle with his shaved head, big ear piercings and tiny g-string slung from the hips of his rock hard physique.

any Russian speakers here? seems like he's receiving instruction in the finer points of arm wrestling, altho we have to doubt how much of it is needed given his brute power. I'm also posting this in arm wrestling thread.

Amen to that suma. I had the good luck to stand behind Mr. Strydom on line once. He's so huge it was like being on the dark side on the moon. Those who say tall guys can't pack on the muscle should see Gary. I'm 6'1" and he towered above me and was twice as wide. He's really an "alpha through omega" male.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot to tell. I had gone into a Koo Koo Roo that's about two blocks north of Gold's Gym and two blocks east of Venice Beach. As I walked over to place my order I immediately notice this really huge guy at the end of the line. Given the location it wasn't unusual to see serious bodybuilders in the restaurant as it's fare was on the healthy side. Anyway, I got in line behind this really big guy in warm-ups and a baseball cap. It was like standing behind a tall concrete block wall. After a few seconds the guy turned around to look back toward the door. Having seen his photos in bodybuilding magazines, I recognized him as Gary Strydom. I tried not to look surprized and thought I maintained my cool. I quickly started to think up topics of conversation in case the opportunity should arise. Anyone who's lived in L.A. for any amount of time learns to respect celebrities' privacy. It's kind of like coming upon big game; you don't want to spook them lest they charge. If they make some kind of move or comment it's okay, otherwise it's: "tourist behavior". So I stood there looking at Gary's back. It was so wide you could have mounted a big screen TV with room to spare. He looked back again once or twice, but I got the feeling that he didn't want to be bothered. Which was cool. As gigantic as he is he must get approached a lot. The opportunity did provide me with a very unique perspective: I feel really sorry for anyone who has to follow Gary onstage when he's stripped down, oiled up, rock hard and ready to compete.

Tell me about it. I figure I'm the lucky one. I stood where other guys have had to train and diet for months to stand. As I said previously, I'm 6'1'' and about 200 lbs.(give or take) and Mr. Strydom was literally "head and shoulders" above me. I guess this story is beginning to sound like it belongs in a "muscle sightings" thread, but the fact remains: Gary Strydom is an ALPHA male.

I just saw the arm wrestling clip. Wow! I even noticed Denis C. actually HELD a couple of guys in from moving, THEN he decided to put them down. One poor soul actually tried to cheat with all of his body weight- AND still got his butt handed to him!

I love how he plays with his opponents...he lets them get started, then out of nowhere just puts them down. His opponent seems to pick at all of Denis' bad techniques but still gets nailed- I swear it looked like the kid had all his leverage (and bodyweight) almost down to the table, then WHAM! Denis countered and lifted the kid's entire body back and nailed him. I hate to think what will happen when he actually develops his technique, he may accidently send somebody flying across the room!

Ottoman, you enjoyed the same thing about these matches as I did. I loved how the arm wrestler described why Denis's techniques weren't quite what they should be, then Denis proceeded to crush the guy in ever match, powering his way back every time from what looked like certain defeat. Loved watching a guy who is as strong as he looks, the massive hairy arms packing the strength of a gorilla.

whats the scoop on the third link in pirate's post (the guy standing on the scale) - i mean my god, he appears to be well over 7 feet tall and built to boot and the photo is not altered....but the angle makes it tough to figure out

and the vid with him testing against Sereneko, notice half way thru around 1:08 mins, that guy couldn't keep his hands off Denis' huge bicep mass, love it!!!

I love this pic. The oppnent is practically on his knees using all his body weight and Dennis seems to be just standing there casually controlling the guy with almost no effort. That's power.

WOW! I had no idea he was that massive.. he dwarfs those guys.. you can't even see them when he turns his back to the audience. Anyone know his stats?
