1RMs Last time Josh and I did 1RMs was in June, three months into my workouts with him. The results then were pretty paltry for someone at 200-205 lbs. but considering I'd been out of the gym for six years I guess they were pretty much to be expected: Bench 185 lbs Deadlift 185 lbs (sucks!) Squat 285 lbs. Now we're at the six month mark. Today's numbers: Bench 225 lbs. Deadlift 260 lbs. (*) Squat 405 lbs. I'm fairly pleased with the progress. I'm pretty sure than the bench and dl numbers equal my previous personal bests in those exercises, which probably happened 8-9 years ago when Jeremy (the late husband) and I were working out at WoodPEC, Emory's Woodruff P.E. Center. The 405 in the squat is definitely my all-time personal best. I think previously it was probably 365 or so. So, really, the past six months has just gotten me back -- strengthwise -- to where I was before my long hiatus from the gym. No telling what gains, if any, are likely to occur from now on. We'll check again in December. xoxo Richard PS: I've completed adding pix from my Labor Day "photoshoot" to BM and BMB. Woo-oof! Those are some serious strength gains in a relatively short period of time, and that squat is DAMNED impressive. Very nice work Richard... No wonder you're making such great visible gains! - J. __________________ 6'3", 225#, growth-oriented lifter. 40 pounds on you bench in three months. That's something most guys would die for. Incredible job, Richard. |
