I've never seen or heard of this, so it had no influence on my original story. On the other hand, there aren't that many different ways to DO a sci-fi/ alien invasion/ mind control/ muscle growth story, are there? So, I'm not terribly surprised there's something similar (although the results don't look as sexy now, do they?).

What "O" has done with this comic is simply outstanding! I'll be the first to admit it -- and it's my story, after all -- I got a hard-on reading it! Kudos to you, my friend. The wait was well worth it!
Tom

Thank you very much, O. I know I'm not the only one who had hoped you'd continue it. Your work is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, right after "Pollination" came out, I made one of the biggest mistakes of my writing career -- I gave the fans what they wanted. Well, what they THOUGHT they wanted. I wrote "Pollination: The Series."

The idea I was going for was not unlike the television series that follows a successful movie -- thematic similarity, but each leaving the other alone, at least as far as continuity.

And what started out as a neat idea quickly grew out of control -- dare I pun? -- like a weed. Naturally, I tried to reign it all in, but even by then it had stopped being anything less than a novel -- a novel I didn't feel like writing. So, I just pulled the root.

Over the last few months, I've re-read those stories and was surprised at how much I liked them. The beginning is kind of slow, but once it gets going... I'd have to do it as a novel, but it might be worth revisiting all that some day...

So would I!!! But how "O" does all the stuff he does now is sort of a mystery to me. Still -- and I always say this -- there's nothing wrong with telling an author/artist you like their stuff and you'd like to see more. The problem comes when people start demanding or losing their manners. I'm a huge "O" fan, and visit his site almost EVERY time I want to... ahem... entertain myself, but enjoy what he decides to share, not what I THINK he should be doing.

Here's to six MORE years, "O!"

The art work that "O" puts into it is so detailed an awesome it can't think of better wording to describe it. I love how you can tell the characters are experiencing growth all over and changing. I would love if you could do more from teh series but completly understand that this has got to take some unimaginable amount of time. I love your pics that are connected to CYOC. This comic those bones me everytime. I was at work today viewing it on my cell and had to try to keep my "excitement" down. Considering this type of scenario who were would bond with a symbiote if they knew it would do what it did to mike in the story?

Oh, me in a heartbeat. Perhaps the reason I always romanticize the transformation and the guy going through it always seems happy it happened, because I would in a heartbeat.

And -- just looking at this story, not the series -- we have no reason to suspect the "invaders" are anything but benevolent. What we learn of them, through Mike, is that the "invaders" live a symbiotic life with a host -- that as a "reward" for the host's protection, the symbiont transforms them into an ultimate warrior, as it were.

The paranoia that drives the story is supplied by Smitty.

And the story was written extremley well. I am no critic so I am probabllly not doing justice in my praise of this but I love this story. And I as well would do that. No second thoughts. Cause as you put it they don't want to hurt us. They just whish to exist. I have always fantasized about bonding with an alien life form and getting some benifit, un-naturaly muscled, over enlarged genataila. Sigh, if only!

Thank guys.

It's kinda scary how the fan art I drew four years ago grew into this comic.

Like Tom, I'd like to revisit Pollination some day, but in the meantime, I'll be taking a break before I start on another project that I hope won't take me as long to finish. Haha...
