| Ox Tales cartoon Here's a rather oddball cartoon muscle growth tidbit, on YouTube, so grab it while you can. It's an episode of "OxTales," a 1980s funny animal cartoon series, animated in Japan, dubbed in English, and based on a Dutch comic strip (which is why the main character wears wooden clogs). In this ten minute episode, Ollie the portly but amiable overalled ox decides to get back in shape. It's episodic, full of corny sight gags and wisecracks, especially a narrating toucan, and is basically cute and harmless with a basic "exercise is good for you" message. But you folks around here may well be amused by the odd subtext. Once Ollie gets back in shape, he keeps showing off his biceps (calling them "pineapples") and engages in a pose-off with a gorilla named Gaylord (!) and an elephant (whose bicep is in his trunk), and also performs several feats of strength. Meanwhile, Ollie's little turtle pal decides to follow his example, and builds himself up, becoming quite ripped for an early 1980s cartoon reptile. But his new physique has repercussions. | I've never heard of this cartoon before. I guess they didn't show it in my town when I was a kid. It's a cute show and it's nice to see the muscle too. |

| People, PLEASE check the dates on threads. Especially if you're digging far into the forum. If you want to contribute to an older thread in a way that will benefit current members, that's all well and good, but a lot of the people in these older threads don't even come here anymore! |
