Muscle Proportions Calculator.

Is there a calculator that can calculate the proper proportions for each muscle in the body if you give it the total body's ideal height and weight?

No, but I can give you some pretty good rules of thumb, depending on how built you want someone to be. For example:

Arnold had a 57-inch chest at 240 lbs. Sean Allan, at 340 lbs., has had a chest measurement as much as 68 inches. When I'm calculating (fantasy) measurements, I tend to put chest (in inches) at somewhere between 2% and 2.5% of total bodyweight (in lbs.)

Likewise, for arms. Arnold's were 22 1/2 inches at 240 lbs. (9.375% of bodyweight.) More typical, perhaps, is Will Harris, who is said to have had 25 inch arms at 300 lbs. (8 1/3%) On the other hand, Robby Robinson (way back in the day) had arms measuring 21 1/2 inches at probably no more than 215 lbs. (10%) So I usually pick a number somewhere between 8-10% of total weight (in lbs.)

The rest is pretty easy because (a) waist oughta be about 50% of chest; (b) quads ought to be the same size as waist; (c) calves and neck ought to be the same size as biceps.

So, for your typical fantasy 6 ft 400 lb. bodybuilder, the following stats might obtain:

Chest: 80 inches
Waist: 40 inches
Biceps: 32 inches
Quads: 40 inches
Neck / Calves (32 +/- 1-2 inches depending on which part you wanted to have out of proportion to the rest.)

Hope this helps! :-)

xoxo

Richard

Here's a link to the Ideal Proportion Chart that"s floated around the net for some years now. It's pretty easy to expand it to ratios for "fantasy" guys too.

http://www.impulseadventure.com/weights/ideal.html

For example, Richard's fantasy guy's ratio is 5.56. The numbers he give are quite close to what the chart would predict.
