Nice or Violent

A recent thread brought to my attention a really interesting question!! (that probably made no sense.. )

Anyway I was just wondering if You guys Like your Stories Nice and Loving, Or Power Trip stories (Domination..)???

Wow, yeah, I can go either way, sometimes I do love John D.'s stories because he writes his guys and boys all dominate and domineering, but sometimes I would just like to be the dominant one, even though I'm weaker, so I would like the guy to be nice and submissive, though still able to lift and carry me at will.

...I like a blend. In stories, I prefer a guy who is lovey dovey but if he gets horny (something I always hope happens often of course ) he quickly takes charge but doesn't force the weaker guy(s) to have sex, but does make sure they do anyways.

Mmmhh... I'm all for nice and loving, usually, although I have read a few domination stories that I have liked. Silicondog's 7-11 is sort of a mix between them and that's like my all-time fave.

But I think NICE is better because in real life I'd like it better if I met a nice muscleman.

I like characters who are, on the whole, good people, but I like them to have a dark side. It gives them an edge. It gives them dimension.

Likewise, if you have a character who is a raging monster, I like it when they have a soft spot--one little redeamable trait. It makes them a lot more compelling.

but in a story, i feel that changes should never be limited to the physical.

Sometimes i like it both ways really. I'm ambiguous. I enjoy writing (and reading) about personality changes a lot and sometimes to me, just seeing an average ordinary person turn into a cocky jock, or especially when a nerd turns into the very thing he hates, well it just turns me on! Don't get me wrong either. I like nice guys just as much. It really depends on the way the story is told.

I prefer for the muscle man to be a nice guy. Muscle men are already stereotyped so often as jocks and/or bullies in most stories already, and I believe that there is a serious shortage of stories where muscle guys are portrayed as "nice guys", in my opinion.

The only "nice" muscle guys you ever see are the super heroes. I have to admit that I've seen more stories on this board lately where there are muscle guys who aren't bullies, and that's a good sign. I hope the trend continues, but that's just my personal opinion.

Nice wins, hands down. It was OK if the guy (or someone else) got off on the muscles, but no subjugation or intimidation for me. I didn't even like to write about destruction of property in my stories.

I couldn't agree more. In the media, and often on this forum too, a bodybuilder is usually portrayed as the bad guy by default just by virtue of the fact that he dares to have big muscles. I think it's time to challenge this stereotype!

My fantasy muscleman would be huge beyond belief and almost unimaginably strong. However he'd be kind, gentle and good-natured with it. Don't get me wrong, he'd know exactly how awesome he looked! He'd be as cocky as hell, constantly showing off, flexing, posing and performing incredible strength feats. He'd dominate me completely, effortlessly lifting and carrying me, holding me high in the air with one hand and teasing me about my size compared to his immense frame with names like 'little man'. But he'd do it all with a playful twinkle in his eye, rather than him being aggressive or arrogant. I'd be totally dominated by him but because I'd always know that under that massive chest beat a heart of solid gold, I'd ultimately feel safe and protected and be able to give into him entirely and enjoy the experience without being afraid of what this he-man might do to me if I put a foot out of line.

Personally I find the idea of an enormously huge and powerful gentle giant SO much sexier than some violent, aggressive freak show slapping me round the face and calling me a faggot every two minutes.....but each to their own I suppose!

I'm participating in Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) this month, which means that I have to write a 50,000-word story during the month of November, which is now.

I'm currently working on a story called "The Strength Formula", which is loosely inspired by "Second Puberty" by Jaypat.

This story is about a geek who starts to grow muscular following an operation, which makes him gain a pound of muscle per day during the fall semester in high school. You can imagine, after awhile, he becomes very muscular!

At 50,000 words, the story will be quite long, but it IS a muscle growth story, and I'll post it here if there is enough interest in it.

Prefer nice and smart if possible. I can see some of the attractin in the other, but like Tanky's idea the best. However, I've even found non-buff guys attractive as of late if they're cute and kind. Remember, beauty is only skin deep, muscle a tad deeper, but the soul, that's the central part.

Yea for that view. I like my muscle guys to be more human and approachable. In real life, I think the majority are that way. I know I am and many others that I've heard and read about are also.

I think if it's two or more muscle heads, then a little aggression is ok, but when a much larger guy takes advantage of someone who had never done any wrong to them and completely emasculates and humiliates him, it just bothers me

Weeeellll, that's an easily fixed problem. You just keep on writing what you're writing there Rex, then when.....*looks at the thread*....Nanowrimo is over, you send it to someone willing to proofread and get rid of the mistakes then BAM!, you can place it wherever it is you're going to place it.

It probably goes without saying that I prefer to have nice guys in my stories. I've tried writing other styles of things with protagonists that aren't of the same mold as Chuck and his brethren, who only want to enjoy each other and share the beauty of muscle with as many guys as inhumanly possible but the results are never to my liking. I try to read everything that posted in the stories section, and I think 'good writing' always wins hands-down no matter which direction they might take the characters and plot.

I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Or several happy endings....

Uh oh: I'm in a minority here. In real life I prefer men (and generally persons) who are gentle and caring. But in fantasy I love aggressive, dominant and destructive supermen who seek their own pleasure first without much regard for anything else...

Update:: I officially won Nanowrimo last night by passing the 50,000-word line! The story isn't quite finished yet, for I still have a few scenes left to write, including the ending. The whole thing is over 150 pages long! Pretty long, for a muscle growth story, huh?

I agree so much. I think aggression suggests the guy is insecure and is trying to prove something to others and himself. A huge guy who is strong but gentle is not having to intimidate or bully people to show off his power; his immense huge size and incredible strength speaks for itself.

Having a drop-dead-gorgeous, massively muscular, super-strong but gentle giant wanting to show off for, and impress, his muscle-loving little buddy, but also wanting to protect and look after him at the same time, is the sexiest idea in the world I think. I love the idea of said muscle god treating me to a thrill by lifting me effortlessly over his head with one hand, but doing so with the greatest of care so as not to crush me or hurt me in his huge, super-strong hands.

I totally agree with Tanky and Flexedbicep020. I find stories about a big, raging muscle monster who is out to destroy people to be a big TURN-OFF! Those guys belong in one place: in JAIL, or DEAD! These are the type of guys who give bodybuilders a bad name!

The whole theme of my muscle-novel (50,000 words, 160 pages, and counting) is the transition that a former geek makes from being a skinny, nerdy guy to becoming a muscle man, following an operation that somehow triggers a very unusual, gradual muscle growth spurt. This geeky kid is suddenly seen as a jock by all his geeky friends, and must deal with being seen as a "potential" bully by them. On the other hand, he's invited to join the football team, he gains a new girlfriend, and becomes extremely popular in high school. His whole life changes, as he makes the transition from geek to jock!

Well, that's the preview. Since he has always been bullied before, he definately does NOT want to "become" a bully, now that HE is the jock in the eyes of his "nerd"-friends! How can he convince them, that he's still a geek at heart, even though he may look like a jock on the outside?

Well, there are other plot twists going on as well, but this kid ends up as the muscle guy, who is described as a nice guy. Circumstance just has it, that he's big and muscular.

Let me know what you think of it. So far, chances are pretty good I'll post this thing on here when I'm done editing it. It'll be long! Be ready for it!

I have my darkside. I admit that. But what *I* like is sweet revenge. The agressive, dominant & destructive ubermentsch who seeks his own pleasure with much regard whips up on a little guy who then somehow grows into a musclebeast in his own right and gives the bully a nice attitude adjustment. I guess that makes me a little dark too, because I DO like vindication stories. Rex and Jaypat, your stories rock!

Oh I can't wait to read this story! It sounds right up my street!

I love your ideas about the former geek turning into a big strong muscle jock but basically still being a geek at heart even though everyone, including his geek friends, think of him as a cool kid now.

I like to think of his new jock friends, who accept him now because of this great size, picking on his geeky friends and muscleboy wading in to protect and defend his little buddies from the big goons. I have an image in my mind of the geeks eating lunch, all sat in a row, three skinny little glasses-wearing nerds sitting next to a massive, bulging, drop-dead-gorgeous muscle jock! He still hangs around with his old geek friends because he still identify himself as a geek, an albeit gorgeous, cool and muscle-bound one! His little buddies are wary at first because they think he's going to be a big jerk like the other guys but when they realise he's still the great guy he always was, then they love having him around to 'wow' them by flexing his huge muscles and performing amazing strength feats and also to protect them from would-be bullies.

Those are just some of my ideas, sorry, went off on one then! I can't wait to read your slant on this. At 50,000 words, I'll just have to make sure I have a weekend free!!

Well, I agree with someone on page 1 of this thread. I enjoy powerful muscle men, the ones who start gentle, but become somewhat agressive. I don't like violence, but I enjoy self centered muscle freaks, who think they are the bests and get hornier and hornier (and more intense) as they are being worshipped.

I once read a story named "Allan" where a guy meets a former neighbor who he used to watch. The neighbor is bigger and invites him to check him out. He is very caring and polite, but as he is worshipped he gets hornier and flexes more, enjoying himself and making his "slave" - no agression here - worship him more. Something like "You love this muscle monster, don't you, you bitch" or "yes, adore my massiveness", and so on.

I don't like blood and violence, but dominace really turns me on. That's my suggestion: more stories about REALLY love and caring giants, powerful enough to take care of you (sort of "owning" you, even with a bit of jealousy), who become more rough, intense, strong and egocentric during sex, always revolving around the idea of "feel the exemplary of masculine power I am".

It depends. Both or one or the other. Sometimes domination can be like really hot, but I'm also a hopeless romantic. I usually define the romantic stuff as being entree and dessert while the main course can contain a bit of domination. : ) I remember reading this story of a young guy dominating another jock from High school, YET when they are alone he is still commanding but his touch softens and he becomes more in tune with his lovers needs. At that point the smutiness isnt the main attraction but rather the "fated" love affair? I don't know... colour me clueless!
