the ancient tree (part 2) This has a very weird beginning, but its just to make it feel more epic The ancient tree(part 2) Log514, June 24, 2012 Throughout my life I was known as Dave Smyder, the good teen who helped his fellow man, but ever since i gained these powers I..... I don't know what made me become consumed with madness and hunger for power, but now it is time to destroy these powers ************************************************** **************************** 5 years earlier, Africa, temple of Satsremuna The corridors of this ancient temple were a strange black, it was very dark and yet, you could see the small bits of light here and there, and a cool breeze was flowing from all directions, it was scary, yet satisfying. You would think these old temples would be looted, but there was amazing treasures to be seen from every corner of your eye, it must be worth a fair amount of money, but my father wouldn't let me touch any of it. Getting down the steps however was a different matter. You had to watch your step, ancient stones crumbling beneath your feet, something that could kill you, and yet throuhout our couple of hours making our way to the top level of the temple, there was no booby traps or anything, just beauty, masterpieces carved into the wall but showed stories that could not be understood, i was curious, my father deserved this whole power thing more than I did, and yet he wanted me to have it. "Ah, here we are, the halls of hope, so it says". My father walked through the ancient doorway and looked into a space of blackness, "Who has the power torch?" A man walked in and placed this giant black box on the stone floor, and set it up and turned in on, a blinding flash on light swept throuh the hall of stone, it was unbearable to see at first but I opened my eyes and at first I thought I was dreaming. I did not see a hall of concrete, I saw a field. A field, of green grass, even the sounds of birds singing. It was impossible to believe, a cloak in the cieling that was consistently flowing, and it looked like a sky, and the walls were glowing portals to the countryside. So that's why there was birds and animals in the room. "IT'S AMAZING" my father shouted with entheausiasm " And there it is!" My father pointed his finger slowly, "The forever lasting tree!" He was right, it was the tree, I never imagined it to be so small and withered, but it was still there, the only plant to live on this indoor field. I ran towards it, knowing nothing but this wild feeling in my heart, it begn to pulse faster than it ever did. It was like something was dragging me towards the tree. And before I knew it, i was in front of the dark brown and wrinkled tree. "Go on" my father said" eat the apple. And before i knew it, the apple had been eaten. To be continued.... |
