How tall is the guy? It may be his choice due to height since taller guys need a fuck ton of mass to be able to stand well next to their shorter brethren. Just like a certain short bodybuilder trainer recommend I do...the fucker.

If someone's a fitness model, I'm assuming it's their job or at least a job on the side. Bodybuilding is usually a hobby--I mean how many guys actually make significant money off of participating in bodybuilding contests? I think there are very few people who can say their job is "bodybuilder" (not that there are tons of models but still a lot more of them than pro BB'ers).

I'd say that's more an argument for the ridiculousness of the things photographers ask their models to do. But I agree he should do some lunges for us. Lots of lunges.

How ABOUT that? According to no less an authority than Cecil of "The Straight Dope," I am correct in applying it to a statuesque, attractive woman. You will notice, however, that in Australia and the UK it is commonly used to apply to a muscular, attractive male!

apparently I picked it up from my Aussie-British lover in the 70's. But I do remember hearing it often from a gay Chicagoan who was about 40 in 70 something. It's not a phrase that I've often used but when I used it, it crossed my mind that it might be out of date. I wasn't sure so I explained it. I've only heard used about muscle men never a gal. Dad was a lady's man but didn't share much of that with me except his use of the term 'chocolate". Another time another place.

BTW, come to think of it, I have heard my father and his friends use the "built" phrase for BOTH men and women, but more often for women. The women didn't seem to think it was much of a compliment.

'Course, I never actually used a sh*thouse of any kind, so whether making it out of brick is better than making it out of other material is a good thing or not- I couldn't tell you!

Definitely wouldn't advise using it as a compliment for a woman in the UK. If she's built like a brick shithouse she probably has a punch to match and you'd be on the receiving end.

loved it in the past when guys worked out in spandex tights, or shorts, much better then those super long overly baggy basketball shorts that hide everything.... o well whats gone is gone I guess

At one gym I used to go to you could tell which generation a guy was from by his gym outfit.
It was hilarious all the older guys 50 or older wore bright colored spandex with thick socks around the ankles
The 35-45 crowd had another look
And the current generation all wore those very long over sized shorts
