Personal best Not so much a "muscle growth" experience as a "muscle strength" experience. One of the things I've focused on with Bally Boy Josh over the past year is core strength. I've always had lousy balance and coordination and working core seemed the way to go. One of the fundamental core exercises is the good ol' plank position from gymnastics, basically a modified push-up position: forearms on the floor, butt in the air, feet on tiptoes. When we started a year ago I was lucky if I could hold the position for 10 seconds. Thursday I held it for 2 1/2 minutes, about 15 times as long as when I started, which, if I'm not mistaken, falls into the category of "most people can't." Sometimes it's the little things that excite you! xoxo Richard |

Great stuff Richard -- I haven't done planks for a while, but I'm going to have to test myself to see if I can get to 2.5 minutes. I used to do 1 or 1.5, but things got kinda wobbly after that. *chuckle* But congrats on such an amazing progression in such a short period of time... - James __________________ 6'3", 225#, growth-oriented lifter. Fantastic Richard. I really enjoy hearing about your lifting adventures with your buddy. I can't seem to keep a workout partner. I've been lifting for about 8 years and I think I've had 6 w/o buds or more. lol. I keep them for about 4-6 months and they either quit or their schedules change. I did have one guy I lifted with for 18 months. He was 5'9" 125# when we started (20 y/o) and when we finished he was 150# all muscle. not too shabby. |

Of course, I *pay* my lifting buddy! Makes for a more stable relationship! :-) xoxo Richard |

If I could find one like that I would *pay* him too.. but this is Terre Haute. lol. All the hot bi/gay discrete guys are closeted and they are in a different closet than me because I don't see anyone else in here. lol. |
