Young Avengers

So I just started reading comics again last October (last time I read anything before that was when I was in grade school during Age of Apocalypse), and I finally caught up recently to Marvel and DCs current story arcs (Started @ Avengers Disassembled and Identity Crisis), when I discovered something quite interesting that members of this forum might enjoy... What mavel character is super strong, has huge muscles, and GREEN? No I'm not talking about Bruce Banner or what some may refer to as the Hulk... Check this guy out





His name is the Hulkling, hes part kree and part skrull. Another interesting fact is apparently he is one of the very few gay super heroes. His partner is Wiccan if anyone is curious, not posting any pics of him though since Hulkling is the one with the huge muscles (lol). Just wanted to share this info.

lol I've been following the series and Hulkling is gonna play a key role in the secret invasion which just started today I believe. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures of Wiccan. Though I found if funny that after the first trade(or graphic novel) of the young avengers on the last page the team told Hulkling and Wiccan that they should change there names. Wiccan was asguardian or something like that

Young Avenger's Presents #3 which came out yesterday has some moments with the two of them in it. Not a lot with Hulkling, mainly a Wiccan title.

I've been wanting to actually get into comics for quite some time... but the universes are so confusing. I saw one comic where Robin dies... but then he's back in another one... and to my surprise, Superman dies (WTF!?) And I only heard Captain America died on CNN (again, WTF!?).

Basically... is it possible for an upstart guy to pick up a comic book and have ANY idea of what's going on? Cause this actually sounds intresting... but I simply don't have the slightest idea who any of these people are and what their relationship is to the comic book heros I DO know (basically, the "Super Friends")...

lol Jason Todds death is awesome lol but yes you can pick up a series and understand whats going on but pick it up from the beginning a series I like is the runaways but young avengers also is a good series to grab but start from the begning they are only on the 4th trade I believe and Runaways has something like 7 books

If u want a good place to START, hit me up, like i said, i just got into it recently myself after quite a long break. Like i mentioned in my first post... If u want to read DC, best place to start is Identity Crisis, as it begins all of the events that are kind of unfolding now with Final Crisis starting in April. If you want to go with Marvel, read Avenger's Disassembled... as it explains when Scarlet Witch goes crazy and pretty much is the prequel of her FUCKING up the marvel universe. Identity Crisis was very good. But I think Hush kinda tops it. Well... I could settle for a tie. Having the Flash around helps quite a bit.

Is Avengers disassemble before M cause I never really got into it I knew kinda what was going on but Hush is a great series

in one of the comics of young avengers when hulkling is telling his story he says (and we can see) how he morphed into a more muscular guy to be acepted among the jocks. nice series. And i think wiccan could be muscular if he wanted. just repeating a made-up spell and Voila! instant muscle!

Avengers Disassembled is kind of what started everything that is going on today, its where Scarlet Witch fucks with a couple of the Avenger's minds making them to not trust each other anymore, thus they break up and make the New Avengers... Its cause of this they run to Genosha to try to kill scarlet witch when she mind bends reality and causes the whole House of M formation, followed by "No More Mutants..." Also where we see Loki and Hawkeye go up in flames, and thus possibly being skrulls now or before lol.

Havent read Hush, but its not part of the whole current DC continuity thing, although they said Hush is what inspired the upcoming Dark Knight Movie.

Honestly, they dont need to that much lol... they have 52 universes so if they mess up they can just say "well, this isnt part of the main universe." LOL
