Growing Taller and Stronger I would love to hear stories of bodybuilders who not only grow in muscle, but also in height! I would also love for you to post pictures if available. Thanks, iamadollyfan |

Sadly I think that only happens during puberty.. Someday though.. |

Well there is a medical procedure that can make you taller but find someone to do if you are generally healthy and well formed would be tough especially in the US... Basically they brace you legs to maintain the alignment of the long bones in your legs. That involve securing the bones to the frame of the braces with steel pins that pass through the bones at several point. Then they cut/break the bones in your legs and position the ends of the severed bones that they just barely contact each other. Once the bones start to knit they use a screw extension system in the braces to put tension on the healing junction of the leg bones. Each day they extend the screws .5-1.0 mm, this forces the healing interface of the break to lengthen. It takes about one or two months for each inch the bone is lengthened. Once the planned lengthening is achieved the bone allowed to 2-4 months to complete the knitting process at which point the lengthened bone in theory should be as strong as any other mended break. The fixation point come out and we start several months of rehab to build up the the strength in your legs that have been severely weakened by 6-8 or more months of disuse. So yes even if the growth plate in your legs have fused you "can grow taller," if you have a couple hundred thousand dollars, can be laid up in traction and rehab for the best part of a year, and willing to risk the loss of one or both of your functional legs. Elevator Shoes (~$300/pair?) and Lifts (~$15.00/set) can make you appear up to maybe 2.5" taller and are much more cost effective, safer, less painful and provider nearly instant gratification.
