Very Sad News

I only learned this through Jaypat's dedication in his latest installment of "Green Legacy."

One of our own, and one of our young ones, DarkLuster4, passed away this week in an auto accident, probably resulting from sleep apnea. Details on his tragic demise have been posted by his brother at Darkluster's website:

Oh man, I'm really sorry to hear this. Although I didn't know him personally from what I saw on his deviantart account he was most definitely a talented man and well liked by friends and peers. My condolences go out to all his friends and family offline and online. May he rest in peace.

Urgh... Shit like this just shouldn't happen... That's so sad to hear. My sympathies go out to his family. On another note, I know that there are a lot of bigger guys on this forum, and that means that they're particularly susceptible to disorders that stem from the body's systems not being able to support the whole. Educate yourself about this kinda stuff, guys, cuz it could save your life.

They found mentions of his DA and this forum from a 22 year-olds last will and testament? And it mentions that he wanted them to upload any images to his DA account that he couldn't before dying?

I'm sorry, but I have trouble believing that he actually died. I've seen at least three separate cases where people have "died" but were faking it. Two of them being an overblown way to leave their online communities while trying to see "who would show up at the funeral" as it were, and the last case was because he had overhyped a project he was planning to release and decided to "die" to save face when he decided he couldn't finish it.

Any kind of tragic death is sad, but since there are at least nine other members who have expressed their condolences I'll be the odd one out. I'd be such an ass if the death is true but my opinion doesn't affect his family and friends in any meaningful way, so I don't really mind it if I'm wrong. Its not that I would not be sad if he died, but I'm hesitant to believe that he died with these bits of suspicion.

I'm with you there, but you just never know. And if it is a hoax, then we were fooled..or some of us. But just in a case, I'm sorry for him feeling he had to do something like this.

Condolences are appropriate in this situation, I think. It sounds like an awful tragedy, and my heart goes out to his family.

(And yes, parts of it may sound a bit odd. But I still think condolences are the right way to go, imho. If it's something else, well, it's something else.)

It is an interesting point, I have also experienced multiple fake deaths online (one was even to kill a fictitious alter ego), and every single one has involved a car accident.

Then again, another guy who I knew actually did die in a car accident, and another community member attended the funeral. With everybody driving, car accidents can be quite common.

If the news is the truth then it's sad to hear. If not... good show

Personally, I don't believe that he's faking his death. Yes, I know I knew him fairly well on here, and from what I can tell, he had no reason to fake his death to us. I mean, if he wanted to leave, that's all he had to say. I doubt he was feeling "overwhelmed" because to my knowledge he was only drawing what he wanted to draw for this site.

As I said, I don't believe it. Also, there are people my age who do have a will. I know, because I do as well. So just remember that if it's possible that someone can do something, eventually they will in most cases.

Yes, I'm a tad irked at people not believing something like a death, even if this is the internet.

well, even if it is a hoax, one can assume that he did it to philosophically or to start anew as far as his artistry goes, meaning if it is indeed a hoax, he won't do too much art anymore; unless we think the worse and he'd've done it only for attention (which... i highly doubt)

In the event this is not a hoax (although i really hope it is) my deepest condolences to his family and friends, he was a great guy (no pun intended, honestly)
And in the event it is, I wish him a most happy and healthy new beginning
