Great story line... Horrible casting and don't get me started on the special effects

I wouldn't expect any muscle out of this movie. At all.

In fact, don't see this movie. If you like DBZ there's no way you'll like this movie. Just by doing a little research you'll find that this movie is a horrible travesty!

Honestly, if this didn't have the DBZ name to it and the same character names there would be no way to tell this was DBZ.

Reminds me of how Hollywood 'ruined' Final Fantasy movie, or Max Payne, or just about most of the adaptations.

They should replace the character names and call the movie "Weird Kid's Awesome Adventure". Then maybe I watch... LOL Hope they don't do it with Watchmen movie... Another nice eye candy to watch out for. Naked blue man.... Mmmmm.... P.S: Hate Fox for screwing the movie release.

Is now a good time to have a bitch and a moan about Hollywoods insulting and perhap racist casting. Ok maybe racist is a bit harsh, but with the Dragonball Z and the Legend of Aang live action movies I cannot see, with good reason why they would hire caucasian actors/actress to play characters who are by their very nature, east asian.

I find it betrays the premise of the story and the fans. I don't mind people making changes to new adaptations and new media but to me this is something that you cannot change without soiling over the original.

Is it just me?

It's any wonder .

Apparently , japanese anime and video games into live-action movies seem to be a current trend right now .

Who knows what's next ?

I don't care how bad it could be. I have to see it, even if i have to take my eyes out after watching it. A true fan of the series would see it regardless of the bad it seems at first sight.

I even saw time ago a very bad real movie with asian actors. It was horrible, but i don't regret watching it... that much

I think my Anime Club and I are going to go see it, even if it is mostly just to heckle it. And if by some stretch of the imagination it's good we get to see a good movie. It's win-win.

As for what's next, I've heard rumors of an American made Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist movie were in talks. Not sure if that's reliable though.

you can add Akira to that list of remakes .... dont know why they insist on molesting Classic films by remaking them every 10-15 years they should really leave it alone. Does America have orginal Ideas left? I mean for fuck sake like. I found hope last year when Pushing Daisies came out on to the screens and I was like finally an orginal thought has came through.... and you know what happened next boys and girls.... they canceled it along with other shows on that network..

Every movie in the last 5 years was based on a book, short story, comic, anime, or point in history.

There have been maybe 2 or 3 movies that were "original".

I blame it on the writer strikes... Hollywood is still too skittish to produce a real story because they fear as soon as the writers strike again, they know that original material movie would halt production with no way to fake the rest.

Anime tends to be ruined when it becomes Amaricanized, this movie is going to butcher DBZ i think.

i've been heatring these complaints for a long time, Frankly they are getting tiresome. For starters, Most Anime's are being made into live action movies, Akira, DBZ..and it's called Dragon Ball Evolution[a form made for folks who have never seen the series, meaning it's for american audiences mainly] Like most movies made in america that take the idea from an original from another country, it's rewritten to fit the american audience as a whole. So yeah if you've seen the anime, its gonna suck, but still i give them props for starring Chow Yung Fat [i think thats how it's spelled] Though the guy who played as Spike on buffy as Piccolo is a litthe odd. Either way just remember, American versions of something japanese or anythign foreign will be remade into something for the american audience and not for the other country. If you want original just wantchy to original .

What i'm saying is give the movie a chance, be it go see it when it comes out or wait til it comes out on rental, either way give it a chance...oh and Final Fantasy was not made by hollywood, it was Square's first movie attempt. Their only other movie attempt so far has been Final Fnatasy 7 AC.

So yeah just give these american amde versions a chance. Then once you've seen them then say they suck or are crap, but don't judge them to quickly. Besides i've seen some of the roiginal movies amde in japan for dragon ball...those did suck. I'm tlakign about the live action not cartoon.

Actually the American audience themselves are the ones complaining about the movie the most.
