Hunky actors you've probably never heard of I'm not posting any links, just names of guys who've gotten my motor running over the years (and I'll 51 tomorrow, so it's a lot of years...) The first, the usual suspects: Steve Reeves Reg Park Gordon Scott All of whom played Hercules or Tarzan at one point or another. Likewise: Dave Draper (Don't Make Waves, Beverly Hillbillies) Denny Miller (multiple TV episodes, including at least one Gilligan's Island) William Smith Reb Brown (Captain America) And then ones most of you are likely to find really obscure, e.g.: Clint Walker (huge cowboy actor, shirtless scene in "The Night of the Grizzly" is still one of my favorite fantasies...) Edson Stroll (the hunky one on "McHale's Navy...") John Saxon (dark, furry, beefy Italian star of many minor movies) Peter Onorati ("Kate and Allie's" super / boyfriend...) Any others...? xoxo Richard |

oh, my! So many more!!! Some well-known, others really obscure. And literally, the list below is just a few. The fifties and sixties were littered with hunks on TV and film, before emasculated men became the fashion: Van Williams (Bourbon Street Beat; Surfside 6; Green Hornet with Bruce Lee) John Russell (at his peak in Soldiers of Fortune and then much thinner in numerous western roles) John Smith (the wrestler in Friendly Persuasion and then many bit roles) Rick Edwards (the actual first male supermodel from the early 80's, then Hearts and Armor, and Santa Barbara) Don Durant (Johnny Ringo) Jan Michael Vincent (late 60's and early 70's version) Jon Erik Hexum (need I list the roles?) James Wlcek (sometimes Wlck; several soaps) David Sederholm (Ryan's Hope) Read Morgan (especially in his mid-20's) Tom Tryon Gary Conway (especially in his debut as "I Was A Teenage Frankenstein", but then in Burke's Law and Land of the Giants) Richard Jaeckel Larry Pennell (dozens of guest roles in the fifties and early sixties; still active) Wes Morgan (Life of Riley) |

Here is a video of a hunk!!! |

I agree Reg Park is the best... I love the hercules stereotype at that time, the muscle man with a full beard... I don't know why that doesn't return. Not that Kevin Sorbo isn't hot but he'd be so much better with a beard __________________ Fuertesyrobustos.com - Crecimiento muscular en espa?ol |

Muscle with beards = 300 But otherwise they were smooth as a Ken doll, which I found quite odd. Most guys who can raised a beard that nice are pretty hairy elsewhere, too! xoxo Richard |

300 with beards Interesting point about the beards. Since "300" was supposed to represent ancient Spartan warriors, the lack of body hair isn't as much of a surprise (since it replicates ancient Greek statuary, which looks smooth and perfect, with no flaws), as the addition of beards. Although there ARE greek statues of warriors /leaders with beards (Pericles, for instance) most ancient warriors found that beards or long hair were a bad idea in battle, since the enemy could grab you by your beard or hair and immobilize you to deliver a killing blow. I haven't researched this point exhaustively. I know that the Romans were particularly against beards in battle. The Greeks may have been a bit more forgiving on the point. Mdlftr |
