Unholy Transformation WannaBeBig.com interviews one of its forum members lost over a hundred pounds. |

This guy honestly does have my congratulations, but I just don't get it. He went from a fatso to an aspiring bodybuilder in a year. It took me three years to lose 115 pounds, and when I "finished", I still couldn't take my shirt off because I had loose hanging skin that was just as embarrassing as being fat. When I started working out with weights, not only didn't my muscles do a damn thing, but the only thing that did happen was I ended up putting fat weight back on from trying to eat to build muscle. I just don't get it. |

hecad84, I once lost 70lbs in 5 months and had no loose skin. Here's the likely reason why: Most of my fat was visceral (internal), under the muscle fascia and surrounding the vital organs. You probably had far less dangerous (healthwise) subcutaneous fat - fat between the skin and the muscle. When you lose fat quickly between the skin and the muscle, presto! Loose, sagging skin. So subcutaneous fat is a mixed blessing. Looking at the glass "half full," you should consider yourself lucky that should you regain the weight at some point (statistically probable) you will not be putting yourself in as much of a health risk. As for why this (22 year old!) guy gained so much muscle (as I also quickly did), the reasons are a lot more obvious to a lot of board members: 1) Muscle memory - he'd done a lot of lifting in high school 2) Training smarts - he knew what he was doing and trained like a bodybuilder 3) Eating smarts - he knew what he was doing and ate/dieted like a bodybuilder. 4) Genetics. You deserve obvious congratulations for your accomplishments but you may be sorely lacking in 1-3...jury may still be out on #4. __________________ "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche "Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses." - Dorothy Parker "Faces fall, but a bicep's forever." - Eager Muscle "A personal trainer is someone who works for your lunch money." - Eager Muscle |
