Opened a BodySpace blog

Wanted to hold out till the start of the new year to do this, but better get started now. I'll do what I can to aleast keep a weekly update on my transformation, while keeping a day to day log on what I'm doing in the gym.

I'm not the type that likes having his picture taken, so my pics do have that "Is it over yet" feel to them. Maybe once I start getting bigger and better I'll try some without my shirt.

Well, I have to love my scale right now. It reads out my muscle mass on top of giving a BMI, and i keep watching BMI going down and MM going up. . . I almost lost it today i almost hit the century mark in MM, 98.1 I finally found the strat to pack on the mass. not only change which exercises I do from week to week, but when i do them during the week and how. I do them.

Noramlly i avoid doing arms on tuesday cause it's the day I do my measurement and weight-in, but I had to do them cause of a heavy Friday routine with an over-the-top Saturday left them a bit tender for a bit longer than expected. I do mean over the top, 14 total strength exercises with a couple cardio with a pair of 15 minute breaks.

time sure flies

Haven't updated what's been going on here in for too long. Starting to see more noticable changes with myself, enjoying it too. Still can't believe I actually posted two pics without a shirt on . . . didn't really like how the front turned out, but it's still okay to me (maybe get a better one done a little later on).

I slowly moved away from some of the machines and now working on using free weights. Still perfer the smith machine for squats till the form is second nature to me.

Current stats as of 3-30-10

shoulders 51.5
chest 48
arm 15.5

weight 255
BMI 28.4
FFMI 23.6 / 24.1(adjusted)

I really like that FFMI reading, it tends to stay about the same week after week while i watch the other two numbers steadily fall. So I know I at least maintaining what i got, just have to work on getting more muscle mass. Need to scare those damn lazy fat-asses off my bus. I can feel the workshirt about to rip . . . any time now. That'll give me a much needed ego boost, or is that job satisfaction.

Wonder how much more muscular I will be in another four months. Those compairson shots really puts things in perspective in the long run.

Now to find a faster way to rid myself of that little remaining love handles before swimsuit season.

Finally some stats

Finally got a trainer to give me some halfway decent measurements today. he should of had them last week, but couldn't find a tape measure.

Neck 17.5
Shoulder 50.75
Chest 44.5
Arms 15
waist (at belly button)45
thigh 22.5
calf 17.5

For the heck of it we trained arms and retook the measurement, just for kicks, flexed post pump 17.5 . . . that's just . . . pure excitment.

you do not gain 2 and 1/2 inches on you arm after a pump. the first measurement must have been wrong. would also suggest you drop some of the midsection. its shouldnt be bigger than ur chest.

maybe he did mismeasure, but the 15 was a cold arm at side, no flex. I did a measure after a pump and got it close to 17, but don't really like the self measuring tapes. think it might have to do with some ofthe suppliments and I hit failure (pretty sad when the trainer is doing the last few reps instead of just ending the exercise) as for mismeasure i think my chest was mismeasured too . . . i think it should had been a few more inches cause i think last time was closing in on 50. maybe it was cause the I was in my workshirt the first time (items in pockets)

For the midsection, I've gone though fat burners and water retention removers. Nothing seems to work. . . gonna try the last option I could think of - a colon cleansing. Before you say it, I do more than enough situps and other ab exercises plus cardio and sweat lockers to lose this damnable midsection.

BodySpace is a great compliment to this site. It narrows the focus by eliminating the people just interested in sitting on their butts reading and viewing stuff about musclegrowth and offering a site for people who are actually changing their bodies through workouts and diets. Although many of us on BodySpace don't take enough pictures. Oh, well. Here is my BodySpace profile.

Finally started getting rid of that damn midsection! Finally got back my old work schedule so I can spend as much time as I want in the gym without fearing of returning to work late. Okay, it's not much longer than normal, but every extra minute I can get into a workout means a little more muscle I can build when at rest and repair.

Still leaving that scale in "normal" i swear i'm anything but "normal".

It stands for fat free mass index, there's a website that calculates the value but it still needs the body mass index to make this number. It feels more like a muscle mass index instead of being fat free

6 months down 6 more to go

Hard to imagine that I've been on bb.com for 6months now. I'm becoming quite impressed with my progress so far, I just wonder how much bigger I can get in another 6 months. Only thing I fear is that I might be growing faster than I should be, then again maybe I'm not growing fast enough. (being my own muscle morph is rather erotic, plus others get to watch )

I had to laugh a few times. Between sets of overhead cable curls, I tried to do a pullup with the over head bar (got about half way up, normally I hang for a bit to stretch out). Sooner or later I will pull myself up for a full rep, even though I still tip the scales at the 250 mark.

Another month down and some rather shocking improvements.

Not sure how in the world I put up 3 inches to shoulders and a pair to chest, but it happened. Seems that while i'm bulking in some areas, I ended up ttrimming a little off the arms and calves. Seems that even thou I gave a quarter to my arms they do seem to stand out a little more, pity I haven't gotten around to photographing (I'll try to get one or two for progress purposes)

Friday turned to be interesting for me. Normally when I'm training with my personal trainer I can't quiet finish all he set up for me. It was a chest day on top of it. However, I didn't totally crap out till the last exercise, a simple plank for a minute. I held on for 25 seconds but dropped. Got back up and finished out. Seems my body is holding out, while getting stronger.

To add to my fun, I went back Saturday to do another heavy training day. 2 hours upper body 30 minute rest 90minute legs. Spent some more time working on chest to completely tire out hte muscle, they still a little tender as of this moment. good thing sunday's a rest day for me.

On a sidenote, I picked up Expand extreme pump to stack it up with morph mega drive. Needless to say, I had to force myself away from the gym from when i used Morph as a standalone. Always mix the two drinks seperately. tried to do both at same time, didn't taste too good. thursday mixed seperately, firday mixed together, saturday expand by itself (it was morph's first of two off days)

OH well here's to another month of growth.

Not too much change thou I did put back on some size (not in the good way) Think I got the sodium problem dealt with, now to keep an eye on carbs. Lunch now has honey wheat bread BP w/honey., raisins, natural apple sauce, and yogurt. Added whatever leftovers i can get my paws on as well.

Another month gone by. Damn time flies! Didn't see too much in terms of change, it seems that I might be finally trimming the last of the fat (thou it seemed to migrated). Even the trainers have seen more definition in my body. Just need to keep doing what I've been doing for another month and hope for the best.

Towards the end of October I'll be heading down to Anaheim for a few days. . . I'm eagerly awaiting Blizzcon.

I opened a BodySpace early this year, when I saw a rapid response to changes in training/diet/supplementation and successful short-term gains. I dropped some mass this summer due to life challenges, and now I'm getting back on the gain train. I hope to connect with some of the forum peeps there that are doing the same. October progress

Seems that this month I've been trimming the dreaded fat I didn't think was still lingering. I was able to put up with the changes I made with my exercise routine by adding 5X5 5X10 10X10 and burnout sets. Even adding limits to range of motion have produced a more quality pump. Pics don't lie, thou shading can make me look bigger (not that I'm complaining about that)

I guess I can post some of my routine here, seeing that it's boring without what I do for lifts.

I try to keep the pattern as close to a specific part each day I do, but will swap a day or two around depending on what warning my body gives, in terms of aches.

Mondays are noramlly an arms day, but will toss in some back or shoulders maybe even both depending on how I feel about my intensity.

Deadly preacher curls - 2 minute rest between sets
first set 50lbs 10 rep per range of motion so 30 total reps,
second set 60lbs 10 rep per,
third set 70lbs 8 rep per,
forth set 80lbs 5 reps per but managed a 6th full range rep at the end.

Seated dips - 2 minute rests
first set 160 lbs 25 reps
second set 190 lbs 20 reps
third set 220 lbs 12 reps (failed to reach my target of 15 reps)
forth set 260 lbs 10 reps

Overhead cable curls
50 x 15
60 x 12
70 x 10
80 x 8
100 x 2 (just had to tackle this weight)

tricep pull down close grip on stright bar
100 x 25
120 x 20
130 x 15
150 x 8 (failed to hit 10 reps)

Preacher curl EZ curl bar
all four sets used 85 total pounds. sets one and four used slightly less that shoulder wider grip, sets two and three were wider than shoulder width grip. ten reps each. top of tenth rep was held for 20 seconds then broght weight till forearms paralle to the floor for another 20 seconds.

Lat pulldown (wanted to hit back to finish up)
four sets at 120 lbs for ten reps. sets 1 and 3 palms away, sets 2 and 4 palms in.

i'll probably keep the routines posted here instead of dealing with bb.com only cause it's easier to type it then click-type-repeat for every exercise, that and i haven't touched that part of the site for so long (just like updating the weight and body fat numbers)

Okay I did swap my chest day with my leg day so my shoulders can have that extra day to recover. Normally I would finish a leg day with a cardio session, but dropped it for a 15 minute sit in the steam room.

Leg Extentions - sets one and three were single leg two and four were together. two minute breaks between sets.

100 x 10
205 x 10
130 x 8
265 x 8

Seated leg curls

100 x 15
130 x 12
160 x 10
205 x 7

Seated calf raises

90 x 10
100 x 10
115 x 8
135 x 6

Leg press - normally I would do a 2minute rest between sets but considering the weight I was gonna to attempt a 3 minute was needed.

770 x 10
860 x 10
950 x 8
1040 x 5

I'm still in shocked I was able to move half a ton, bet my glutes hams and quads will be letting me know not to do that for some time. The hardest part about this was taking all 22 plates back to where I got them. Needlessly I hit the steam room for a well deserved reward.

Wow a year already

Well other than being jobless, I say this year been a success! I've gone from a near 290 slob to a 245 (give or take) gym addict. A shy person at the start to a light talker, thou I have a voice that carries. Sooner or later I will be tempted to head to the gym in a stretch shirt with no loose-fitting muscle shirt over it.

Cannot believe I've forgotten to put up updates over here. For the last 9 weeks I've been working on my own fitness program and tracking the results every 3 weeks. The cycles shift drastically so it creates as much shock as possible. This time I was working on a 5x5 routine. Now I'm gearing up for something even more challenging - the 10x10.

smith flat bench 225
smith incline 225
dumbbell bench (using the skull crusher grip) 100 but had to do 10 reps for 5 sets.
machine flyes 280
feet elevated push-ups, first week was 3 sets of 5. Week 3 was two sets of 10 then a set of 8.

It?s June and that means. . . Progress report time. Been seeing some nice gains in strength and power. At this point I have finished my second week of my pyramid rotation two days increasing weight; two days decreasing weight. Already blasted though 315 pounds on flat barbell bench. Monday I?ll be attempting 365 pounds. If anything, it?ll be a simple overload by only lifting the weight off the rack.

As you?ve seen in the recent shot I?ve gotten some noticeable gains, but the issue I keep running into is that I can?t really show off my legs, so here?s the special treat. I hiked up my gym shorts and a little on the spandex I wear under it to really show how massive my legs are. Plus I tossed in a couple flexes at the 1200 x 1600 image size. I had forgotten to adjust the picture size, so these were done first.

I keep forgetting to come here and post my progress. Been doing drop sets for hte past two weeks and been making some nice gains in my strength. I can handle 335 pounds on the flat bench, slowly trying to push towards 365.

I almost can get 155 with the ez-curl preacher. I was able to start the cheater rep to get it up, but I fall short of it. Been doing a rather nasty combo with dumbbell curls that surprised how far I've gotten. I count up to 20 as I do these so I'm not losing track. Hammer right then left, then do a twiisting curl on right, followed by the left. That's only a 4 count, but I do this till I hit 20, so it's 5 reps in each position. I could feel the difference with my arms already, they are slowly filling out and up. It's exciting to pull this off using 35 pound dumbbells.

I have to start using the lat pulldown machine for tricep pushdowns cause the cable I use to use only went to 95 pounds and I can get a solid 10 count there (I'm not one to go find a spare pin and rest a weight on it)

I have started to feel the stretch shirts I wear digging more and more into the side of the pecs and lats. Even my sleeves shirts are getting this way. It's always nice to know that my body is growing bigger all the time, muscle growth is always exciting.

Time flies by when you?re exploding in size. Not exactly sure why my waist wants to keep up with my chest. I?ve been monitoring what I eat and how often I eat, so I?m not sure why my midsection wants to keep growing too. Don?t say crunches and ab work, that might be helping them pop out, but it will not help remove fat from there. If I happen to build muscle as quickly as I did, I would end up with wide love handles that are all muscle.
Starting next week, I?ll be switching my program and parts worked once again. I toss in abs and shoulders where I can so that the parts worked can get a needed rest.

Work is already taking its toll upon me. I wasn?t even employed a week before I feel like I?m being used as a crutch. Seems that almost every day off I had scheduled was taken away for one reason or another. To make it worse is that I?ve been staying later and later than scheduled. Hate saying it, but I?m really regretting finding that job. Having the extra money might be nice, but not at the cost of my sanity. I just cannot multi-task like I use to.

Work hasn?t seem to have done much to affect my workout time. . . Yet. I just having a slightly harder time getting myself out of bed. Though from between my workout time and work time is about 3 hours, so that doesn?t leave much time for any pleasure.

Anyways, back to my workouts. Going to change up everything going to be alternating upper and lower body exercises so Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be for upper body workouts, while Tuesday Thursday and possibly Saturday as lower body workout days. Cardio will have lower resistance on upper body days and heavier resistance for lower body days. Back to the much dreaded five by five so it?ll be heavy consistent weight.

Seems that putting an exercise or two on a part, this case on the arms, have made an impact. They did add some size and strength, so this month I?ll be focusing on the chest and some on the shoulders.

this time a video of me doing a couple short range reps with 405 pounds.

My workouts been going great. Broke the 400 barrier on flat bench was a major milestone, still trying to squeeze out a rep or two seems to be a real challenge. Right now there?s a slight pain along the right trap into the shoulder that I won?t want to risk injuring, so I?ll be doing a lighter load on bench presses for now, till I feel the shoulder and trap are up for the task. Think it might had been from doing dumbbell over head press, it was a variation to the seated military press I had been doing.

November means a new change to the routine, and it?s not the pretties of routines. Lowering the weight a little but going for ten sets of ten reps. Also going to place the focus on my legs. I wonder if I can push my tree trunk thighs to 31 inches by the end of November. Still want to reach a 40 inch waste, which I didn?t reach soon enough. I will get there.

Another strong point of this month my birthday *strips and does the happy bull dance* Yes. On the 23 I?ll be turning 32. Work still sucking the life from me and my parents been working on draining my money?s life. Bitchy mom of mine decided to wait till the last minute to even let me know that they haven?t paid the insurance so I had to burn my fuel for that. Swear she only does things to make a big inconvenience for me. Going as far as saying that they won?t pay my insurance anymore, so that?s a hundred dollars less a month to go towards a new PC. On top of that, I have to repair my truck?s air conditioning which went out less than a week ago. Not sure where the failed part is or if it?s more than one part. Could be the cooling unit or the blower unit, doubt it?s the heating unit. Even my disks on the front axle needs to be replaced. Cracked windshield, least the crack isn?t in a place where it obstructs my vision.

Having a little fun with my current workout routine, been pumping hard with a rough 5 by 5 program. I start with a warm up and end with a slightly lighter cool down to polish off the muscle. 3 exercises per part 2 parts a day, leg day is the exception with 4 or 5 exercises.
