I was lucky enough to meet up with the big man himself when I was in Boston last week, and he's the real deal. Thick and solid as a tank, huge arms, pecs, back, legs, everything hard as granite. Really fills out a t-shirt well...my large shirt fit like a glove. (Not to mention another shirt he hulked out of just by flexing!) Very cool guy to hang out with too. He's made excellent progress and I have no doubt he'll be able to hit 275 this fall. |

Not wanting to be a hater or come across as a dick but there is a difference about adding lean muscle and keeping your bodyfat under control and just adding weight just for the sake of saying you weight a certain number. If your not keeping the bodyfat number under control then your just making more work for yourself. His pics are good but it looks like his body fat is above 15% which is high if your trying to be a bodybuilder its too high but ok if your going to be a powerlifter. Just my opinion |

Some people on this forum don't care so long as muscle is involved. I carry way more body fat than him and have been checked out by other guys at occasionally odd times. |

I don't understand BIGJOEY's logic. Collegeboy is going for that powerlifter look so I don't get where he gets the bodybuilder angle. __________________ Blogger: http://whitepapermusclestories.blogspot.com/ Tumblr: http://whitepapermuscle.tumblr.com/ Wordpress: http://whitepapermuscle.wordpress.com/ |

to address the body fat issue, as I stated previously I just concluded a bulking phase. I am a thick individual and I am in the process of cutting now. I happen to like the off season look, not the vascular look which some people prefer. To each their own is what I say. |

I don't have a dog in this fight, since I agree that "to each their own." Where BigJoey is coming from is the competition ready bodybuilder, with full muscles, cuts and separations and low body fat. O.k., that's his perfectly valid perspective. Collegeboy is coming from the perspective of "Hey, I'm getting bigger than I've ever dreamed and it's cool!" Both equally valid perspectives! You do the work, you reap the rewards! Go, College Boy! Mdlftr |

Mdlft- Thank you as I think you put into perspective two very valid points. I am just a social worker who enjoys lifting as a sense of control in a job where there is little to begin with. Not sure if people have experience with taking a child out of their home before, not fun and emotionally draining. I lift cause I have always dreamed and wanted to be big. I have considered it an accomplishment that my waist size has not gone up since this whole bulking phase which to me is a great success. I appreciate the feed back good and bad. Like I said, I am cutting now and changed up the routine and diet to go along with it. If you have good ab exercises please feel free to pass along. |

if you had read what i wrote i said if your going for the powerlifting look then its fine. try reading first dah. I was making a distinction but it seems your didnt get the point but to make it plain for you , if your adding size to become a powerlifter then the body fat number while is its important for overall health its not as much of a concern as if you were adding muscle to become a bodybuilder. Is that better ? |

No Big Joey you made it clear, however, now you do sound like a nasty person. I guess this is what people get for branching out and posting pics, you get the good and the bad. |

I totally get what you are doing Jon. __________________ Blogger: http://whitepapermusclestories.blogspot.com/ Tumblr: http://whitepapermuscle.tumblr.com/ Wordpress: http://whitepapermuscle.wordpress.com/ |

College Boy, In addition to the goals (good for you!) I totally get what you are saying about lifting and working out being a respite from work and its stresses. I have a good friend who is a social worker dealing with vulnerable populations like children and the elderly. It is stressful when a situation has gotten to the point where a person must be get an alternative placement. I am an attorney (we're not all ass hats and we're not all making a million dollars) involved in social justice, policy and disability. Sometimes the situations that people have to deal with are depressing. The fantasy and reality of becoming a big strong, healthy muscleman helps to get through the day sometimes! Keep up the lifting! |
