Broadway Muscle Hello Darlings! Well as some may know me, while most of you don't, I am a Man of the Great White Way (Broadway), living in NYC it tends to grow on ya. Well recently I've been hearing a great deal of "The Bigest Biceps on B'Way" and I had to gander. Well I found him and met him, but he is one Big Actor, like all the photoshopped images that Dolphin and others have done on here came to life for this guy! Here is his Webpage and links to photos and profiles and blogs. I Hope that this is allowed here on this forum, but c'mon how often do people write about Muscle on Broadway? __________________ Mad as a Hatter, You Know! Why is a Raven like a Writing Desk? thank you, this guy is a hottie, i hope he get bigger |

I Do too! You can see him now at La Cage aux Folles __________________ Mad as a Hatter, You Know! Why is a Raven like a Writing Desk? Mae Hats Not War! |

He is pretty damn cute, but he is not nearly big enough. |
| |||
I think your standards are too high. He's way better than the average better-than-average guy paraded around as a celebrity hunk. The guy could play Superboy (maybe not Superman but aging will help him.) I think he'll have a great career. I'm thinking of another buff showtune slinger turned international celebrity. Hugh Jackman, anyone? |

Nick Adams rocketed to being extra famous when Mario Lopez went in as a guest role as Zach in the revival of A Chorus Line a few years back. It became the Battle of Biceps on Broadway. In the end Mr. Adams got a long sleeve costume, despite the character being a dance captain, and they were doing original costumes from the 1970s production... Where the dance captain was sleeve-less. Of course Mario is famous but everyone loved Nick. __________________ http://canadianactor.livejournal.com/ I'm an actor, writer, director, security guard, who works out, and who lives near Toronto, Canada. |

If you want to go WAY back, Steve Reeves was in two Broadway musicals, "Kismet," and "The Vamp." |
| |||
Steve Reeves was in Kismet? HA! Don't forget Peter Palmer in Li'l Abner, and the whole subplot of the town's men being turned into sexless (read gay) musclemonsters when they take the yokumberry tonic. |
| |||
I remember the film version of Lil' Abner The bodybuilders were quite impressive, whatever their inclination! As I recall, in the movie, the wives wanted them changed back to their usual scrawny, toothless, hairy hillbilly selves because they were only interested in their own big muscles once they took the tonic. Even as a little kid, I remember feeling bummed for them that they had to revert! Mdlftr |

There were four bodybuilders in Kismet actually, carrying Lalume around on her litter. Don't know who the other three were. |

Starlight Express Howdy, Has anyone seen a production of "Starlight Express" where the actor playing Greaseball actually had the muscles that he sings about, and looked good while flexing them? I only saw one production, a long time ago, and neither that nor web searches turn up anything terribly encouraging. Cheers, divis24 |

Ladies of Dogpatch: "You mean they've all turned into Lil' Abners?!?" Scientist:"Yes, I'm afraid so." Ladies: "Put 'em back the way they was!!" |

Not to mention a YOUNG Valerie Harper in that number |
| |||
Yeah, and Beth Howland (Company on Broadway, "Alice" on TV) |
| |||
Nick looks great! Thanks for the link to his page. |
| |||
Anybody have any idea who the guy in front is? http://guyswithiphones.com/2010/09/149539/ |
| |||
Nick is really more known for his abs though, when we was in chorus line they had to cover his body up in costume so he wouldnt over shaddow Mario Lopez |
| |||
Scott, the current Gaston actor for the touring show is Logan Denninghoff but I don't think that's him in the photo so I don't know. Whoever it is, he sure is hot! Even has the requisite hairy chest and the pecs to go with it. Grr! |

There is a big guy in a production here in the UK. Its the one that is about the life of a woman who married an ageing millionaire and died two years after he did. |

Since this thread has gotten popular again, figured it was the right time to bring you an update about our original posted Actor, Nick Adams. He now has one of three leading roles in the new Musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert based on the 1994 film, and yes, pretty outrages costumes ! Nick plays the Guy Pierce role of Adam/Felicia. Here's some pictures of the production and a |

It's... probably not a shock, but I do find it gratifying that (according to that infallible source, wikipedia) Nick Adams is openly gay. Yay for cute gay guys! __________________ I won't sit down And I won't shut up And most of all I will not grow up. - Frank Turner |

Speaking of musicals and muscle ... One of Steve Reeves first (or perhaps his very first) was in the MGM musical "Athena" with Debbie Reynolds. The plot centered around an eccentric (by fifties standards) family that got into healthy living in a big way. One of the big set pieces in the plot is a bodybuilding contest, one of the earliest references I've seen to the sport in a Hollywood film. It was released on vhs some time ago, but never made it to dvd. I think it turns up on TCM on occasion. Steve doesn't sing, but if he'd had the voice and some training, perhaps he could have given Alfred Drake a run for his money in the "hunks in musicals" department. |

Good news is that's very much true, bad news is he is taken as far as I know via his twitter __________________ Mad as a Hatter, You Know! Why is a Raven like a Writing Desk? Mae Hats Not War! |
